Yep, sure did.. reckless fucking rocks :D

When I opened it up to check the quality the lad behind the counter and I just stared at each other in silence for a few seconds and then I was like... I'll take it and he's like right, I would too man.

My friend always takes me to Reckless Records when I'm in town...what an amazing place.

I'm on a first name basis at all 3 locations it seems lol; I buy way too much vinyl. You know you have it made when people hold records they think you'll like for you behind the counter and show you when you arrive. I've gotten a lot of crazy shit that way including a really rare live european at the drive-in 7inch.

that is extremely cool!!!

would you consider making a hi-rez digital copy to play, and locking the vinyl away? i know, kinda defeats the pupose, but you want to hang on to that. it's definitely a keeper.

lol yeah it is, I'm still stoked about it.

I'll have to transcribe the letter when I get home because it's ridiculous.

I remember one time I was gonna go to bar. Decided not too because I wanted to be lazy and just watch TV. Found out the next day that people were taking shots and getting drunk with Damon Albarn at the bar I was thinking about going too.:(

Zenmervolt, I'll have to show you one of the records I have that's etched, it's unreal. It's basically the album cover etched into the vinyl. It makes that side unplayable obviously but its a short LP.

Do you have any other QOTSA albums on vinyl? I've always wanted to get their self titled album or their even more rare Gamma Ray EP :D

I'm waiting on Rated R and Songs for the Deaf, good luck finding the original :(

I also have a really rare LP by them called the Idiot's Guide. It was made by some no-name company that put together a lot of their obscure/rare bsides and unreleased tracks.

Sounds like a pretty big win to me. I don't know if I could spin it, though. I think I'd leave it alone/mint and go rustle up another copy for listening.

Meh, albums were meant to be played, I don't care about money.

Every time you play it, the quality gets worse. How do you enjoy an album knowing it's a limited resource and next time it won't be as good??

I love the things that they did with records. Like the laser-etched LPs that a few groups released.

Styx Paradise Theater laser-etched LP.

funny you should mention them, my dad went to school with the Styx at Chicago State University. My dad played drums for another band and knew of them. I just found out this tid bit of info about two years ago. My dad had hundreds of vinyl records but my grandma threw them all out after he up left to join the Navy. Oh man I wish I was able to just see that record collection. Incidentally he named me after his favorite group Jo Jo Gunne.

My dad loves LP's he has a room full of them. He even gets them from bands that he does not listen to (though he will listen to it at least once). Personally i can't see what the big deal is.

though congrats! getting something that you collect/enjoy always puts me in a really good mood and even hearing of others finding something like this puts me in a good mood.
