Cats are incredibly independent animals. I can leave a massive bowl of food, a large container of water rigged to continuously fill a bowl, and go on vacation without worrying about whether the cat will be alive when I get back. Show me a pet which you can do the same with.I don't know why he had it on a leash, or why he was holding it like that. Not a surprising reaction. They keep out mice, rats, and other vermin so they're good in my book.

indeed..I also do not like cats much, but not because of this video. It is just a personal preference...

I wonder though, if there is any correlation between the number of cat lovers and Kerry lovers here.

Fish? heh..I agree they are easier to keep, but that doesn't make them better.

It's called petting the cat the wrong way. Cats prefer to be rubbed on the tops of their heads according to my experience. ALl of my friends's cats love to jump and nudge their heads on my hand because I always rub their head :p

A cat that doesn't respond well to being put on a leash. Who'da thunk it?

If you don't like cats, that's certainly your right. I would hardly call them worthless, though.

Do fish keep out rats, mice, and squirrels from your house? Maybe some pirahnas, yes...

LOL, are you kidding? that is exactly why cats kick ass! That just shows to go ya, you don't mess around with cats :) And you can't blame the cat for getting mad at him. He was probably stressed, was on a leash (cats hate that) and he was petting it in a fashion that was quite obvious it did not care for. ;)

Cat-lover and a Republican here. Though my hero is Milton Friedman and not really Bush, though I'll be voting for Bush this November.

No joke, my cat use to hunt birds because it got tired of me forgetting to pour the kibble.
Miniature hunting machines and legal compared to lynxes or bobcats :D

Outside of monkeys, cats are the smartest animals on earth. Dolphins, phhh, what've they done for me? Dogs actually don't even have brains, it's been proven.

Oh, didn't read that part. Well..I don't have a rat problem..and I don't know of many cats that can truly keep away a full grown squirrel. Ive seen a dog do a good job of that though.

A friend of mine had an inside/outside cat which came and went as it pleased. It had an attachment to the daughter of the family and would frequently leave 'gifts' at her doorstep. One day she got out of bed in the middle of the night, came back, and screamed. A five-pound cat had laid something in the neighborhood of an eight-pound rabbit right on top of her pillow.

Sweet.

Edit: I do think Rabbits are better than Squirrels though.

LOL...I love my cats dearly, but they've been known to do some incredibly dumb stuff on occasion. My wife and I look at them as the equivalent of 2-year old children: Incredibly curious creatures that want to taste, touch and smell everything they can reach, while constantly finding new ways to get in trouble. :D
