I lol'ed at this part. Yeah, I'm real confident now that he said "should not cause accidents" 🙄

How can they seriously be ok with this when they are basically just shrugging off the fears of potential accidents due to suddenly stopping or swerving? They respond by essentially saying that if you do swerve/stop, you shouldn't be driving. Riiiiiiiight, that justification is really going to fly when some really does get hurt.

It is always refreshing to see other counties come up with bone-headed ideas. Goes to show there are idiots everywhere.

pavement patties is what those kids will become once the locals are conditioned to ignoring the image of a kid in front of their cars.

Same thing happens in construction zones. They put up the zone, post the reduced limits, and people slow down - for awhile. After the work zone has been in place for 7 goddamn months with little sign of progress, and with many days where there are no work crews to be seen, those speed limit signs start to mean less and less to people who have to pass through every day.

Hell, even birds can figure out that a scarecrow is harmless. How long were they seriously thinking that this would work?

I prefer scary monsters or aliens.

This is actually a much better idea. Something that will get you to slow down and take notice, but something you are not likely to accidentally drive over one day because you are used to seeing it.

How about bicycle messengers in all passing lanes? What about an image of a fat person on a motorized scooter depicted on bike paths.

That should keep traffic flowing.
