The flaming on this board has become ridiculous, on both sides. I guess the current state of national and world affairs leads itself to that somewhat. Its become far worse then when I stopped posting here in August.
But here's some observations I'd like to make:
For the right:
- Stop bringing up Clinton
- Acknowledge that the current administration is capable of making wrong policy decisions
- Acknowledge the mean spirited and winner-take-all mentality that has engulfed the Republican party in recent years
For the left:
- Realize that the sky isn't falling
- Acknowledge the complete failure of the Democratic party to present a clear, positive vision for the country
- Realize that complaining about the current President here will do nothing, if you want to make a difference, get off your ass and do something about it
Thank you. For the next few months, I will be spending my free time and political energy doing what I can to help out the Dean campaign rather than reading political columns online and posting here and other places. I like to think that Dean is rising above his Bush-bashing mode now that he's built up a strong base and has become the frontrunner. I know my time working for him won't be wasted.
I suggest you all do something similar with your political fervor. I'll be back to gloat about Dean's successes during the primaries.
