Shit storm or not, the electoral college is all that matters. The states will elect the president as they always have. The states have the power to alter that system if they so choose.
I have some agreement with the supreme court judge issue. The republicans outright fucked Obama out of an appointment, that wasn't right by any measure, and should be corrected.
