Find an e30 and then swap this engine in it![]()

Little dated on the looks, but definitely a rocket. I'd personally go for something small and impractical as a second car (996 Carrera, E46 M3 etc. )

I like the size of the 5 seriesI love the E46 M3, but it's a bit tight inside, and I need/want a 4-door for road trips, taking clients out in, etc.
I've also got the sleeper stuff lined up. Have my 528i badge already, looking at storing the wheels/tires and getting generic 5-series wheels with some decent tires on them. Maybe port the exhaust somewhere a shade early, and leave tips on just one side. Combine with a possible performance tune/intake, should be lots of fun![]()

Are you joking me? Why would you want to do that? Just buy a 528i?

Because I don't want people knowing I have an //M with ~400hp. Particularly cops, but ricers/etc as well.

I think this body style doesn't look dated at all. I prefer it to the current models, really. The E60 is a nice looking car, but it has some goofy things I don't like, namely the front of the car. I do like the cheese graters on it, though
Then again, I prefer the newer M3 to the E36 and E46, I think that style looks better on a smaller car. The M5 is too big to look like that, basically.
Nice choice, OP. If I could find a nice clean one in the area that I know wasn't thrashed for 22k, I'd strongly consider it.

I've seen plenty of M5s for better values, saw one for $25K with 30,000 miles, another for $25K with 50,000 miles. Both were 2002+ models I believe.
It's a nice car, just looks old now, the body style is over 10 years old and its aged.
Look at a 96' 528i riding on 15's and tell me it doesn't show its age, the e39 M5 just has some cover up.

It's silver. Not exactly ground breaking nor unique![]()
