There are things that doctors will say that you must do and then there are things that they will say in passing, like, in some cases, this works. In other words, they won't get behind the other thing 100% in order to lay the blame of any permanent side effects on the patient. Not all doctors are miracle workers. Just like a regular class has maybe like 10 students at most who are brilliant, it's the same with doctors too.

I've seen medical students complaining about biochemistry being really hard. Ummm...bud, if such a basic subject is giving you trouble, why are you still in medical school? Answer: money, money, money. They made a mistake and now they can't back out so better get through it one way or another and at the end of the tunnel, there's light (money) which keeps them going.

Could it be that we are all different? I take Allopurinol which has no effect on these electrolytes, to lower uric acid. And amiloride, which is potassium-sparing diuretic. Meaning it increases potassium in the bloodstream. Both of these were started at age 27 to prevent kidney stones. They are working well, I have not had a kidney stone since, over 30 years now.

I've had low potassium all my life, they aren't concerned until you hit 45-50 years old. Hence the supplement. The phosphorus was a more recent development. The concern there is bone health. My nephrologist probably knows just a bit more than you.

Tell me more doctor.

By the way, you should look up just how much potassium 80 mEq a day is. My kidney condition is definitely NOT increasing it.

It's hard on any pet when it loses it's person, and starts to live in a cage again.

It's a lifetime commitment. If you could not afford to board him temporarily, how will you afford the vet bills when he gets older? Trust me, there will be vet bills. Maybe you shouldn't adopt again.

Yeah your condition is definitely something different. That's double the recommended potassium intake. I remember someone else was recommended by his doc to drink coconut juice for potassium. I tried that once (about 500 mL) and I could feel my heart sinking a bit afterwards, meaning the potassium level had increased.

JUST STOP.

It's 3120mg. Just under the recommended 3400mg a day for my age bracket. So it's not double. But that is on top of the potassium in food I eat.
OTC supplements are limited to 99mg per serving.

I was enjoying drinking papaya juice over the past two to three weeks but it started causing the itching issue. Skipped it one day and went with pineapple juice. That day, I felt a lot better. Next day tried papaya juice again and the issue returned. Checked their potassium content and yup, papaya had it a lot higher (almost 3 times more). So gonna have to avoid papaya juice now or have it maybe once a month :(

Hm, if only someone had told you to check into this first, because you probably couldn't just walk in and get ECT.

I guess my mistake was just using text to tell you instead of putting it in a YouTube video, you seem to actually listen to what you see in YouTube videos.

He could always cut the cord off of a lamp, strip 6” of insulation from each wire, then duct tape the wires to each side of his head…and plug the cord into the wall outlet…

I feel bugs crawling on my legs and feet all the time, but it's due to Diabetic peripheral neuropathy from my hips down. I tried a TENS unit for a while but it didn't help (with phantom sensations or the chronic pain.

I think that ECT involves less than 1A DC. 13A of AC would be spicy!
I guess that he certainly wouldn't be worried about the itching then though!

They said that medi-cal only covers ECT if they feel you ABSOLUTELY need it and it takes 2 months to get approved....or something like that.

The doctor talked to my psychiatrist and he said I should wait a month and 3 weeks to come back and admit myself again so I don't have to be in the ward for the whole 2 months.

The smart move would be to not admit yourself until AFTER you've been told that it's been approved.
This is how I know exactly what you won't be doing.

Since I’m pretty sure he’s “on the dole,” I doubt they’d admit him without pre- authorization anyway. California welfare might be easier than some red states, but they’re still pretty tight with the $$$.

I had a pretty hard time today because of my delusional parasitosis, I feel bugs crawling on me literally everyday, but it was especially bad today. I'm supposed to wait 3 more weeks before checking myself back to the hospital for ECT.

Some of you guys have told me "WHY DON'T YOU JUST GET A DAMN JOB!?"

I was working at McDonald's a little over 3 years ago but was fired for scratching too much, my manager said it wasn't sanitary.

A few months ago my neighbor needed help moving a TV into his apartment and we had to put down the TV a couple times because I had to scratch myself, Im worried the same would happen if I get a construction job, and it'll give me a bad reputation.

I feel like if ECT really does cure me I would be able to take over the world.

I've finally actually looked at the NIH article.
"In various literature reviews, it was indicated that symptoms improved with pimozide, olanzapine, and risperidone after at least a few months of treatment. In this case, the patient was unresponsive to the above antipsychotics even after adequate doses and 4-6 weeks of treatment duration. The initiation of clozapine treatment and the use of ECT in combination showed gradual improvement in symptoms of DP."
Seems like ECT and clozapine are used together, and that after other treatment methods have failed.
You should probably assume that you will not be approved for ECT.

Let me guess: ChatGPT is how you diagnosed yourself with delusional parasitosis?
