Text messages. These cost cell phone companies near ZERO because it's small data packets travelling over an existing paid for data network. I read somewhere it's 4x more expensive per character to send a text message than to get information from the Hubble telescope.

what are you talking about?

<----unlimited text messages included in my plan. :)

unless it was free it's still too much.

It's insane that they charge 4-5 dollars for a box of cornflakes.

Walmart has had Rice Chex on sale for $1.66 for the big box for the past few weeks. I love me some Rice Chex.

My vote is kids' toys. I don't know how the hell a bunch of plastic blocks can cost over $100.

pop from pop machines.

1$ for one can is pretty much standard, though I've seen $1.25 in some places, think that's actually the new standard.

Meanwhile you can buy a case of 24 for like 5 bucks. I want to start a vending machine company.

Pop's always been ridiculously overpriced. It's why I always bring a drink for work if I'm going somewhere for lunch that doesn't include it in some combo.

The real pisser is candy. For the last few years, a bag of 'name brand' candy like M&M's goes for $1.10-$1.25 at convenience stores. All things considered though, I think I save money by buying individual bags at will compared to buying bulk. Having a whole box readily available makes it too easy to finish the box in a week, which thus continues the cycle.

They gain experience points after each session.
So do your part and help a hooker level-up.

Soda prices vary a lot around the country. I have never seen soda for less than $3.33/12 case in Wisconsin, yet it is $2.50 in Arizona (and very regularly last time I was there).

Doctor visits. I swear the last two times I went in for a visit, the doctor didn't do squat -- yet I see the crazy bills that was charged to my insurance. No wonder rates are jacked up so high.
