Shoes too. Not necessarily high end, but shoes that are clean and not beat up.
This, for me.
I like nice shoes, not necessarily expensive but decent.
It's also important for your feet/posture/back etc.....

There is definitely a difference between dressing very well and being blinged out. Shiny black shoes, an elegant watch, and a suit are not bling. Bling is wearing an 80mm diamond watch, and any other silly accessories.
You might as well wear yoga pants every day.
I'm glad I don't have a job where I have to worry about whether my shoes are shiny and my watch is elegant.
And I say this as probably the most professionally dressed person in my office.
Shiny black shoes, an elegant watch, and a suit are not bling, but they are also not requirements for being well dressed.
nothing you cannot tell. Mot rich people I know you could never tell. The richer you get the less you want to spend.

Still dress the way I did since being a freshman in college - dress shirt, pleated pants, matching socks and shined shoes, no tie (can't stand it). It definitely made a difference in how I was perceived, and since perception is reality, how I was treated in school and at work. You feel better. People regard you better.
The elite look like bums now too just like everyone else, I think that's tragic.
