Negotiations with Korea - We know they bamboozled previous admins. Getting China involved was the right idea. If NK tries to go back on their word, it isn't just "playing" us now.

Choosing Patraeus to command Iraqi effort - E.g., 14 of 18 tribal Sunni leaders (in Anbar IIRC) are now opposed to Al Qiada, etc

Tax cuts were good. But I would have preferred Clinton's "miilion dollar" tax rate remained. However, it should have been apllied to those actually with a million $s (or at least $500K) in taxable income instead of about $250-300K.

NASA - Committment to developing new sacecraft to replace the aging shuttle fleet, and better the commitment to return to the moon for the purpose of using it as a launch base for deep space missions.

Social Security - At least he wasn't afraid to try and address this, unlike many others. Just getting the issue in the fore is a good thing. To the extent privatization turns SS from a defined benefit program into a defined contribution I oppose it.

9/11 - At that time no one thought we could go this long without another (succuessful) attack. Well, hasn't happend, so that's a success.

Pakistan - getting Musharif to come out on the side against Al Qiada etc to the extent he has. Puts Musharif in a difficult and unpopular position, asassination attempts against him have been made etc.

In respect of OP's request I won't list what I think are the negatives.

Unless you're in the top 1% of in earnings, the amount you got wasn't much different from what your taxes would have been had we been fortunate enough not to have Bushwhacko as President. The fact is, you'll be paying much more for the rest of your life to pay off the trillions in present and future debt he's run up with his war of lies.

If he did cutting taxes right, he wouldn't have increased spending to record levels.

Maybe he is in the additional 10 million people who pay no income tax at all thanks to the Bush tax cuts.

Don't know much about it, but according to my family Bush has helped them with the home. Someone explain more?
Good point, I forgot about that (in bold).
He appointed two blacks to the most powerful none elected position in government.

I think he does a good job of pulling the country together at times like 9-11 and Va Tech etc.

He really comes across as being compassionate and concerned.
(Although nobody in my life time comes close to the ability Reagan had at connecting with people.)

Say what you will about Bush, but he does excel at picking up crap off the lawn at the ranch....

I'm a tax CPA. You're wrong. I know you drink heavily of Dem koolaid, but when those cuts you refer to as for the rich expire you'll find out just how much.

You'll see all the very non-rich scream when the payroll withhold tables are adjusted. It hits home when the paycheck shrinks.

At least the rich are identifying themselves now.

the rich are already taxed much more than the average person so why is giving them more tax cuts back bad? after all they still pay around 5-10% more.
everyone should pay the same amount of taxes imo

No. Unlike some, I actually have other things to do now and then.

The answer is, I don't believe you. PERIOD. Any short term "feel good" boost you and a few others may have will be shot when you take into account the massive debt from the Bushwhackos' war of lies. And that's before you get to the massive waste and deficits they've run up elsewhere. It's all going to have to be paid for, sooner or later, one way or another.

Remind me to consider your alleged professional qualifications again after you learn to count and to think in terms beyond the next few days.

He's done a great job of putting a simple-cowboy face on the neoconservative plan to remove your civil rights and turn America into a real economic powerhouse - one designed by the rich, for the rich.

He has helped devalue the dollar- now we can export more of what we have to export.
Also, he knows the truth about China holding out debt.

Bullsh8! Any dufus, including the current Dufus In Chief, would have gotten it right after 9-11. He sent the troops into Afghanistan after those who actually attacked us. Give him a rousing DUH! for managing the blatantly obvious.

Then, before finishing the right job, he stepped on his own dick, and redirected the majority of our forces into Iraq. As a result, Al Qaeda and the Taliban are regrouping and regaining strength where he left them, in Afghanistan.

Yer doin' a heck of a job, Bushie! :p

I heard him at Va Tech. The best he could manage was to dig into his massive bag of cliches and tell us the startling news that the students were "in the wrong place at the wrong time." Does he get his speeches from forturne cookies?
He really comes across as being compassionate and concerned.
I believe the term in native Texan is "All hat and no horse." At this point, the only concern he has is not getting impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors and, following his removal, being indicted for murder and treason. :|

i don't like golf... but yes
imo the gov should make money through tariffs and duties instead of income taxes so i think any cut in income taxes for anyone is good

just my opinion though, i'm sure i'm oversimplifiying the issue though :)

Well, yeah...

Tax cuts with massive deficit spending probably aren't even 'tax cuts' though the models would be pretty complicated and hard to prove conclusively.

Bush's war has left us with present and future debts that will exceed a trillion dollars and more deficits from his ill advised tax cuts for the very wealthy. Please explain how your oversimplified, underinformed concept of governmental revenues will cover that.
