I busted out my CD's today to install it + the expansions. I has almost forgot how daam much fun this game is.

A ride broke down, with smoke pouring out of it, one of the maintenance dudes was literally 20 feet away from it, sitting eating his sandwich. Apparently he didn't care about fixing it, even when I told him to, he just sat there nom nom noming away.

I load Wild! A tiger got lose and was terrorizing the park guests, the ranger dude was sitting there nom nom nomin on his sammich as a screaming guest ran right by him with the tiger in hot pursuit. Apparently his sandwich was too good for him to concern himself with catching the Tiger. Gotta love the remarkably lazy AI of the workers. Mine always seem to eat more than they work lol.

Been years since I played it, and I still suffer from my original problem of sucking ass at planning ahead, I start strong but my park gets too cluttered due to my lack of design ability. I would be so happy to see a 4th one, but I don't think it's even in the works :( Oh well at least this one still looks pretty good at 1600x1200

I absolutely loved to death the first RCT. It's one of my favorites of all time, as I was really into theme parks growing up. RCT, CF, and LL were great. The second one was good, but by then it was getting a bit old. I never really liked the third one. I wish for a photo realistic isometric view fourth version of this game, similar to the first two releases.

Nailed it right on the head.

RRC is awesome. I liked it so much I bought part 2 with everything but part 3 felt different. I bought the regular part 3 but no expansions. It lost a lot going into 3d.

Rollercoater Tycoon was great...

But nothing can hold a candle to Bullfrog's Theme Park.

I didn't like how small the maps were and how you were limited to scenarios rather than an open map type thing. I just want to build a massive themepark :(

Agree! Theme Park was awesome, I remember loading rct...and going I've played this before...

On another note, Theme Hospital was even better :)

I just liked making a giant coaster. Raise the land all the way, make the supports as high as possible, put boosters at the top and then go straight down :D

The original RCT got so hacked, you could have programs that made you own the entire map, remove height limits, unlimited cash - etc... which is one reason why I loved that one so much. Not sure if that was ever the case with 2&3.

They had sandbox modes where you could build big parks. I remember doing it in part 1 but if I remember it was in the training mode and I built parks through that.

RCT3 does have a sandbox mode, which is pretty much what you guys are saying you want, a huge open area that you can just do what you want with.

Even if this wasn't included, I remember using custom maps (huge expanses of flat, blank land, tons of starting money) as starting points. I didn't actually do much else o.o, spent a lot of time on these alone.

Theme Hospital was awesome, but then again everything Bullfrog was releasing at the time was. I know I own Theme Park, but I can't remember playing it/liking it much. I'll have to dig that out.

I loved all of the RCT games. However, nothing compared to constructing a rollercoaster in RCTIII that was designed to have the coaster fly off and crash and viewing it in first person.

I kinda dug Zoo Tycoon, and yes, seeing a tiger or a bear chase a guest through the park still strikes me funny.
Hmmm. maybe it's time to get away from these FPS' and go old school again..

Is theme park different from theme park world? I remember getting theme park world with the friendly black helper guy and it was an awesome game. I played RCT III and its really sad but 1999's theme park world still betters it in many ways. Building a rollercoaster in theme park world was so frickin simple, but in RCT III its a lot like it was in the original RCT a goddamn nightmare, especially if you are used to the theme park way, also known as the easy way.

There needs to be another theme park game! Its been 10 years. Bleh... actually forget it, i just remembered who owns the rights to theme park.

I definitely prefer the isometric view of RCT1. RCT3 just wasn't that great, not the good kind of cartoony.

while RCT was a great game, my favorite Tycoon game still remains Transport Tycoon which i'm positive they won't remake :brokenheart:

Played the first RCT for hours on end back in middle school, it was the only thing my old IBM Thinkpad could run. Spent hrs building customs parks and working on them for days at a time :)

RCT3 sorta killed it for me. Sim City 3000 was about as addicting as RCT

I never played Theme Park World, it looks terrible and a shame compared to its predecessor.

I think I spent the most hours in any game playing TT. I could just spend countless hours rerouting my lines for efficiency :D It was beautifully simplicity and allowed you to layer your own complexities to it.

Now maybe it's just me, but Locomotion was a disaster. I totally could not play that game at all. I guess maybe I was hoping he could have updated the graphics just a bit.

There's also 1 or 2 open source TT type of games floating on the net. One is German I believe. If I can find the bookmarks I'll post them or just try google.
