...all running around, crying, terrified they won't get their college applications in, transcripts, grades, pssh. Couldn't care less. Think I'll just go to Pittsburgh Technical Institute for graphic design or something. Can't believe people go through so much stress just to fit in.

I'm going to University and it ROCKS. I love it!! Whooooo!

Edit: And they're not trying to fit in, they just have ambition and want to make the most of themselves. I'm not saying you can't do that without a college education, but it's your best bet out of highschool.

Most of these kids are going to the University of Spoiled Children or Jew C. L. A. just to fit in with each other. Just because I don't choose this path doesn't mean I should drop out. I don't think life is all about education and degrees.

Or...they might be going there because they want to?

I had the same belief after HS. I could have gone to a really good school.. my SAT's were great, I had a great average.. but really didn't give a rats @ss about college. My friends went to NYU.. Pace... all really good schools.. while I could care less and I went to Night school to take classes like a moron. I learned my lesson after not caring about getting my forms in and such. Now I'm in a really good school schedule which I really like and all because I thought ahead.. instead of doing it half @ss and at the last second.

Not in my school, these kids are soley there to compete with each other. They don't give two sh!ts about Biology or Literature, they're acing the classes to get to college to become part of the game, part of conformity and where they can blend in. I've never heard anyone say "I really enjoy this..." or "I'm looking forward to college..."

Same here. The few that do say "Can't wait to party!" , etc aren't going to the top schools. The rest just work their ass off...for some reason..I don't know. It's like they are going nowhere fast. Im sick of it personally. Infact, I am in the same position as you idNut. I hate it when someone asks me "So, where are you going next fall?". I have started making up stuff like "Well I was offered a full scholarship to Harvard, but I decided that I was just too smart for that kind of crowd. Its Stanford for me baby."

I never said "I really enjoy this" to anyone who wasn't a close friend of mine, and rarely to them, but I absolutely loved every AP class I took my senior year (6 of them). I was competitive because competition is fun, and I got into a darned good school and am having an absolute blast. And one of the best parts of it is that I don't have to deal with people too apathetic and/or stupid to be here.

Makes me sick to hear about all this running around for pointless forms, signatures, authorizations, etc. But that's me. The way I see it is this is all to no avail. We're all gonna die anyways so why even bother wasting even more of your life in school for a career that will enslave you in America's economy? This is why I wish I lived in Roman or Medieval times. Sure disease and sh!t was awful but at least you got a taste of living. You could go into battle with a sword (instead of gun because anyone can shoot a gun), no piece of technology to rule you, the things you learnt were from your mentors and not your corporate teachers, etc.

I'm not really thinking before I put down anything which is why everything sounds so crappy. I could explain my point in much more depth but I doubt anyone would care. My bottom line is that to me I see these people spending four years to get the job that will make them happy. Total all that up and that's about sixteen years of school for them to finally be happy. What happened to the enjoyment of everyday? All I hear about is stress and how things will be great after college or sometime in the future, never now, oh no.

wow that's like one of my worst nightmares. i'm a very academic person myself and i worship science and technology.

Well, I'm not saying go back with your current knowledge now because I can definitely see that as torment but just to live in that time when things were primative and so were you.

I think intelligence is overrated. I know that's a bold statement but I really do. Most intelligent people turn into greedy people and whatnot. Was it not Satan who told Eve to question God's Word in the garden of Eden? It seems to me now that we can no longer trust one another because we're too busy fvcking over each other so one of us can get a bigger piece of the pie. We can't trust anyone anymore because we've put money above all.

Buahahahaha...yeah, cause those fantasy novels you read are always perfectly accurate. The real life of a peasant in the middle ages wasn't serfdom where you worked from dawn till dusk in the fields, tied to the land you worked by law yet not owning the land or earning an income. Every single man was a super hero who fought with swords and daggers in big epic swordfights in nifty battles in armies where there wasn't rampant dysentery (sp?) and everything was great. Just like Dungeons and Dragons has promised you.

People run around signing forms and getting educated because they have beliefs, ideals, hopes, dreams, and aren't paralyzed by some half-baked nihilism and s00pur-kewl rebellion, which, by the way, has been exercised and felt by teens since time immemorial...including those precious and idealistic Roman and Medieval times.

I'm not into D&D at all. I don't have any fascination with that, I have a fascination with living without time ruling our lives. You're saying that the only way to fulfill those beliefs, ideals, hopes and convictions is only available through lengthy education. I don't believe life works that way at all because if it did, we'd be the first to fulfill our convictions.

I think you should dismount from your horse.
