I've seen my share of fights, broke some up, some weren't going to get anywhere bad enough to break up but one thing I would never do is stand around while multiple people attack a single person even if it was provoked.

Me either. If a person who was painted completely red and was naked got attacked by 4 midgets I wouldn't want to be told "1 man got attacked by 4 other men". Or even in this case the suspects are unknown and need to be identified, so what should the police say "We are looking for 4 individuals, who may or may not have a penis, may or may not be between 5 foot and 7 foot and may or may not have hair."

They didn't mention height or any other identifying features. Hell, they didn't even say what type of shoes were stolen. It's a racial issue. And that's the problem.

Race is not mentioned in the title of that article, nor is it mentioned in any of the opening 3 paragraphs. Not until the 4th paragraph is anyone's race mentioned. I also never seen any mention of what race the victim is or that it was a racially motivated crime / black on white crime. So for fairness would you prefer they say "4 African American teens beat Caucasion 15 year old boy".

Edit: Also what about when an american / white person is killed or raped in a foreign country like India, should it not be allowed to mention they were white? Or if a white american commits a crime in a country where the general population is not white, should it not be mentioned it was a white person who committed the crime?

Now I know, if I see a group of african american males yelling "WORLD STAR, WORLD STAR", I'm not walking that way.

There wasn't anything subtle, or subconscious about my statement. It sounds like a bullshit charge misapplied. Communications devices have nothing to do with what happened. If they want a charge for those not actively participating, it's aiding and abetting. No need to misapply laws.

I'm not sure how you derived my interpretation of what it means to be an American by my post that had literally no information in it. Regardless, you're wrong. That's not even close to what I think. You take it way beyond what you posted, though.

I was simply curious why you continue to live here because you obviously despise almost everything about this country. Any chance you get to shit on the USA is taken with a vengeance. I'm not saying I think you're right or wrong. It's an observation.

True fact, 90% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

I stay here because this is my country, and most other countries eat shit in their own special way. I'm down on America because there's a lot to be down on, and you can consider my voice to be a moderating counter to the typical circlejerk you hear everywhere else. Everything isn't rosy and grand, and this isn't the best country in the world. It has potential, but like a brilliant teenager shooting heroin, it's being wasted.
 
To bad they don't have NC laws. The 17 year old would be charged with felonious common law robbery, granted 10-13 months isn't enough that but it is what it is. Here, once you turn 16 you play with the big boys, your out of the juvenile system and in the adult system. You go to jail like everyone else.
