Thermaltake Pure Power 500w $25 after $45 rebate

I just decided to make a call to Outpost and inquire about the rebate form. The lady on the other end said she would E-Mail me a form and within a couple of minutes I was filling out the form..So if your not sure just call and they will E-Mail you the form.

=( I'm kinda sad that this isn't the crazy version with the total watts viewer...but still seems like a very solid PSU for $25.

I just received it today, It's the W0100RU PSU, not what I thought it was, but not bad either. Anybody know how quiet these are? I used a Purepower 430 and it was louder than I'd like.

well if you have it, open it up and try it ou? 😛 It's an LED (clear) 12cm fan, most likely it will be louder.

Edit: added emphasis

very weak PSU. it's the same rails as the 470W TR2 W0090RU which doesn't OC well. I got rid of a Thermaltake for an Antec.

call to have your orders updated to get the differences refunded.. they lower the price to 54.99 instead of the 69.99

The CSR I just spoke to says that you have to cancel and reorder to get the lower price which he did for me but he cautioned that he's been told that these are backordered and won't be in for around three more weeks and that the rebate has to be sent in with 20 days of the order date. He thought that this one would be a bit of gamble.

Called my CSR this morning and he said they'd be in June 4th. I may cancel anytime between now and the sixth... I only ordered this morning so hopefully it'll squeeze in...

well ic alled and the lady refuse to price match their own F*kking store.. WTH is with thier policy im gonna have to call again and speak with different rep. They are giving me a hard time.

just so you guys know if this is real or not. I just came back from Fry's and purchased one. It is indeed the W0100RU model. I paid 64.99 + tax and a 45$ rebate printed out with my receipt 🙂

Can anyone tell me if this will be stable enough to overclock a system running an Opteron 144 and a ATI x800? I'm new at this. Not sure how many amps is enough on the 12V rails.

Just did the exact same thing. Thanks for the suggestion. FYI, there's still at least 30 left on the shelf at the Chicago Fry's. Canceled my order with Outpost.

I'm going to do SLI with two 7600GS cards in the future... there aren't even any PCIX connecters there so I should be fine for SLI I think.

It says there's a "PFC function" on the box... can someone refute this?

I just got one from Fry's Burbank CA. Unusually for Fry's, while the shelf was empty, they had about two dozen in upper backstock down at the other end of that aisle, over the desktop case display.

As for the "PFC" function language, what's odd is that the other models of Thermaltakes I saw on the shelf had a yellow PCF icon along with the ATX, AMD, SATA and other icons on the box. This one does not have that.

I called on Friday and was told that they expected to be able to ship in about three weeks. So...goodbye rebate. Drat.

Click on this link........Thermaltake's power supply spec page.

If the ps being talked about is indeed the W0100RU, under the PFC column this PS is listed as N/A, unlike others that are listed as either active or passive.

Does this help any?

Yet on the same page of the manual that has "n/a" for PFC in the table, the textual list says it does feature PFC.

Go figure.

Person I spoke to earlier (this am) said that they would only PM if they can cancel the order prior to shipping. Mine had already shipped so I'm out the extra few $$$. Ah well, still not a bad deal for a spare PS.

Yeah I noted that too, thus the confusion... I imagine this won't be much of an issue, as it will be sitting on my 1kVA triplite UPS.
