I see Paulson is a Diamond Member, and that Virge is an Elite Member. From DanC's post I see that one becomes a Diamond Member after 3000 posts, so how many posts now required to become an Elite Member?

I think the mods pick the Elite members.

Elite member is an earned status--bestowed upon those who are considered exceptionally valued members to the forums for one reason or another--such as going out of their way to help other members, or contributing to the community, like Virge's FAQ's.

Uhmmmm. Paulson...Most Elite Members operate on a slightlier more humble level. Going out claiming &quot;I deserve it&quot; does not tend to help one earn Elite Member status.

I think it is a lot of BS. Quantity does not = Quality.
I know a couple of Elite members here that were elite status the day the new board showed up. Does anyone here think that Amok does not deserve elite?? It seems as if you post a lot of drivel in Off Topic you can get any status that you care to achieve.
