I can't help but think the whole thing is funny in a way. I mean seriously, the entire thing is happening because two teens who thought they were being chased by police did something illiegal and stupid and got themselves killed. Even more interesting, the police had nothing to do with it (it isn't as if the police shot the wrong people with tasers and it killed them).

Improper taser use is what I expected when I entered the story...

I try not to watch BBC News, I don't really like their particular slant. Of course all media sources are biased, but I've seen firsthand how biased their reporting is. Whatever, that's another subject for another thread.

Why don't you just say what particular slant you find unattractive? I happen to watch just b/c of that slant. For me its like a breathe of fresh air after watching the uber biased media news programs here in the States.

people think that because France surrendered in WW2 that they're militarily incompetent?

ah, they held out pretty well during WW1 and then they dominated the continent the century before under Napoleon.

hey, they even fought for over a century in the Hundred Years War back in the 14th century.

I just can't stand retarded France-bashing because they didn't back the Iraqi war.

Anyways, riots will happen in large cities over race issues all the time. Remember when Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated - it wasn't all peace and flowers in Detroit, New York, Cleveland, etc...

I have a friend who lives in France and says that theres seriouis tensions growing in France because of all their giving into the muslim immigrants. I hope they don't pussyfoot around this too.

Keep hoping...you know they will. They won't do a dang thing about it.

exactly... media in the US is MUCH more biased. You just seem to think that the BBC is biased 'cause you are so used to american reporting.

Incorrect. I lived overseas, and that's where I first began to dislike the BBC.

Yeah no kidding, the BBC is objective as compared to our news.

ThePresence doesn't watch BBC news b/c they don't take a openly pro-Israel position on pratically everything.

France grew complacent with an obivously rising aggressive and intolerant party in Germany. Aside from the anti-non-aryan sentiments there was huge unrest about the Treaty of Versailles.

France surrendered in WWII because they were politically incompetent and arrogant....just as they are today.

sorry earlier what I meant to joke about was the day of fasting and being hungry, however they just came from playing soccer.

for most religions, fasting is taking time away from what would usually spent on material carnal things and investing in the spiritual. I don't think soccer is it.....

people make fun of france cause they got steamrolled twice by germany. let's leave a tiny little gap in our border defense (luxembourg) that germany would never think to run through! yeah... FTW 😉

That's funny cause I can't stand the incessent America-bashing and France-defending from most Canadians. Hey, guess what, you're still our little brother.

So we're even.

9000 police cars stoned this year? Are there even that many police cars in France? I called shenanigans.

I've heard today in the radio that over 20 000 cars were destroyed since the beginning of this year :Q But I'll carry the rest of my posting over to P&N.
