What the hell is this? Some conservative tag-team tournament? Roman, why don't you post something intelligent. From reading your posts, it seems like your critical thinking mechanism is short-circuiting. You say you are not a "blind republican", but your posts indicate that's exactly what you are.

Do you get to decide when "I post somthing intelligent"?

Me thinks I found one.......

*sigh* And I hoped you would contribute better than this, Romans. Turns out you're a super-far right near-troll with a love for flamewars. And when I say far right, I mean, on the list of right-leaning people on this forum, you'd make the first or second spot. How disappointing :brokenheart:

But, Wow just reading through some of the posts/threads here is amazing stuff. I had heard about real communists/socialists in our midst, but I did not know they actually hung out at ANANDTECH. Go figure.

🙂

Hey no kidding why so much anti American rhetoric around here?

Conservatives love America like a baby loves his mommy. To that baby, her mommy is perfect, infallible, and he will defend her against any accusation.

Liberals love America as two adults. If one gets sidetracked, the other will bring it up and reprimand in order to remedy the problem.

Criticizing America doesn't mean we hate America. People like you are too stupid to realize that it indicates the opposite.

Either that, or like Hannity and Coulter, you indeed do know the difference, but use the guise of "hating America" to defame and smear our criticisms of whats wrong with America today.

Three for three right in this thread alone........

I noticed you "smart" liberals sure result to personal attacks and get all pissed off quick.

Your worthy of our pity I suppose

Well if you only knew what the words communism and socialism actually mean, then you would know that there might be a few to none socialist and none communists here. I seriously doubt that anybody in here would deny capitalism as the best way to make money.

You don't need to be communist or socialist to be against illegal wars, lies, deciet, corruption, spending billions on weapons and blaming the rest of the world for the problems which incompetent politicians have made.

This is just an opinion.

The left seems to attract people who are negative, the ones who are against "things".

The right seems to attract people who are for something.

Look at the posters on this board, it seems to fit.

That is completely backwards ! (from a liberal perspective)

I think it's more likely that liberals are unhappy with the things a conservative President does and vice-versa.

Nope.

The left attracts people who have higher standards; they aspire for the US to become the best it can be.

The right attracts people who want to turn back the clock, and who want the government off of the backs of business and into people?s bedrooms.

When you have 2 exact and equal opposites they are the same. The best we can ever hope for is a middle ground , if any extreme wins , we all lose.

HAHAHAHAHAHA, right-winger has trouble with reality again.

Its a matter of perspective, leftists like me would consider this statement the opposite of the truth. Ie, right-wingers are AGAINST a woman's right to choose, or AGAINST gay marriage.

For these cased, the right-winger would say:

I'm FOR the rights of unborn children, or I'm FOR the "sanctity" of marriage (not so divine when half of them end in divorce anyway, eh?). It's just a matter of perspective.

Figured out who's who yet?😛

If there is one thing the left can't stand is being called "socialist" even though they push alot of the things that would infact further a more "socialist" system. They seem to like to call themselves "progressive" because they seem to think it has better connotations than "liberal" or "socialist". A few here are honest enough to call themselves "liberal" but most like label themselves as "progressive" or try to say they are "independent" although they don't push anything but leftist ideals.

BTW - I'm a proud Conservative😀

In the US, that is certainly the case. Socialism here has been equated with communism since the red scare, and so any time someone says "I'm a socialist," people instantly look at you funny. In Europe, socialism is much more accepted as something separate.

BTW - I'm a proud liberal with socialist leanings. 😛

The moderate socialist aspects of the USA mixed in with capitalism is what made the USA the envy of the world in the 20th century.

Neither pure capitalism nor pure socialism can work IMO.

Pure capitalism and a vibrant middle class can not co-exist.....and pure socialism results in too much stagnation....too big of a middle class.

Um, the right doesn't attract people who are "for" something, it attracts people who want to strut around and PRETEND that they stand for something. As far as I can see, the only people who genuinely STAND for something are a handful of Libertarians (and, to be fair, other small parties) to whom no one pays any attention, and the Republicans and Democrats stand TOGETHER against third parties with their lies about our "two party system" (which does not and has not ever existed...)

The same can really be said of the left, too: For all their whining about protecting the poor, all they do is endorse policies like minimum wage and unionization, which do nothing but HARM the poor.
