Thanks for the update. I have determined based on other games,
that this driver, 352.86 is very buggy and plenty of people are having issues.
I will try Gigabyte Guru though, hopefully it helps.

Oh ya the driver is total crap, that's for sure. People complaining about the driver crashing in 2D (like me) randomly is pretty unacceptable. But in game Afterburner just refuses to cooperate regardless of the drivers until I found out Gigabyte Guru seems to fair better. If you care about the technicals, apparently its about the voltage tables work when the card boosts, but if you add a bit of voltage to the min offset it can help solve instability issues. Only Guru has a minimum offset boost so that's why the program works, where Afterburner has only a Max offset voltage adjuster.

Estimates are that for the main storyline, sidequests and exploring all ? areas - the game has about 125 hours of content in it. Some guy on reddit said he did everything he could find and has 150 hours spent in the game.

Hmmm... I wonder how much content future DLC's will add? In comparison, I've spent over 280 hrs in SKYRIM + DLC's over the years and still find new stuff when I dive in.

All of the free DLC will be small, like we've seen so far. Armor or weapons, cosmetic stuff, maybe a quest. The two paid DLC/expansions announced so far are supposed to add around 40 hours of content combined IIRC.

DLC won't add a lot of content but since they are making the distinction between DLC and "old school" expansion packs, the 2 expansion packs should deliver 25+ hours combined.

Sounds fine to me. I'm really enjoying this game thus far. Seems like a game I can play for a couple years to come.

regarding the XP bug:

I'm currently doing the main quest in Novigrad (
tracking down Dandelion
, at level 14 or so. The quest progression is currently at level 11. At each stage, where it updates, I am supposed to be getting an XP dose, correct? Also, when one part completes, and is replaced by the new questline
chat with the gang bosses
, I'm supposed to get the main XP.

well, I didn't get any of those last night, but I was getting it from local ! quests and other secondary quests several levels below--so I think this bug is specific to the main quest lines, that have multiple stages? Problem is, I'm not sure how long I've been running 1.04, though I'm pretty sure I did much of the Bog Hag questline during that, overlevelled, but I just don't recall if I was getting it or not.

I'm not too annoyed by this: as a member of the glorious PC Master Race, I can just unlock the console and give myself some missing XP...I'm just not sure how much I deserve, yet. ....I mean, 75 hours, level 14. maybe something is up? lol

I think typically you only get xp from quests when one ends and it actually says quest completed on the left side of the screen. Really it seems like the main effect of the bug is that you might not level up high enough to access some of the "best" gear. If you're just interested in doing quests and playing through the story you'll still be able to do that.

Supposedly 70 is the level cap. I haven't heard of anyone higher than the mid 40s and most people are saying that there's little quest content after 35 or so.

Well this is really embarrassing, but I made a huge mistake installing the Witcher 3 on Windows 10 preview..

Since the game has been released, I've been playing on Windows 10, and while it's performed decently, it has been suffering from some minor hiccuping or blips; especially in shadow dense areas.. I troubleshooted the hell out of this, and came away with the impression that it was likely a driver issue since I am using SLI..

But last night I thought I'd install Windows 8.1 just to satisfy my curiosity if there was any difference in performance. So I did, and my God, the difference is practically night and day! All of the strange performance problems I was experiencing with Windows 10 have vanished, and the game now runs perfectly smooth on full ultra settings, plus all Gameworks effects set to the max!

I was wrong to think that Windows 10 was ready for prime time use. It's not, especially if you want to play the Witcher 3. So I'm posting this to alert anyone thinking of installing Windows 10 on their primary PC and playing the Witcher 3. DON'T DO IT! Use Windows 8.1 for the best experience!

As Merad said there is a patch comming monday but the post from CDPR says even the missing experiance points should not be an issue.

We would like to let everyone know that we are aware of the XP glitch players are reporting and we are working to have it fixed as soon as possible across all platforms (Monday for PC & patch 1.04 on consoles in the following days).

At the same time we want to shed some light on the issue. First of all, it doesn't impact the game balance in any significant way. Also, you will be able to finish the game with your character achieving a level within the threshold we had in mind when we designed the game.

We hope this clears things up a bit. Again, rest assured, we won’t stop working on improving the game and there are more patches coming in the near future.

Eh, hard to say what they are getting it, but I wouldn't be happy if it prevents me from getting 1 or 2 skill points that I was hoping to get. As for now, I figured I'd play on anyway, because I already feel somewhat overleveled for the stuff designed at my level, so I don't mind too much if this slows me down and things feel a little difficult again.

I only have a few quests below my level to finish up, anyway. I can always gift myself some XP at the end of the game if I feel it necessary.

I'm not surprised that a preview OS is a bit slower than a mature one with mature drivers.

What they are saying is you will be a proper level to complete all the story. They have a level in mind when they design the main quests, and you won't be too low even with the bug. What can happen is you don't get to level 50 or whatever the cap may be.

All my other games played really well though. Only the Witcher 3 was notably worse. I think that as NVidia releases newer Windows 10 drivers, that issue I was having would have eventually been solved.

Still, it's much too chancy to risk for your primary gaming machine.

Right now yeah I don't expect brand new games to play nice with whatever driver is available for it. I'm sure it doesn't get the latest fixes etc like the released OSes do. Once it launches it'll be fine though I'm sure.

doesnt this game have dynamic content multiple choices?

i dont know why people keep saying there is xx number of hours

a game like this you could play for thousands of hours if you want no?

i see people with 1600 hours on skyrim without gameplay mods

that's usually multiple playthroughs, though.

It's certainly possible to approximate an actual number of hours that it takes to experience/complete all specifically available content, in one play through.

.I appreciate the amount of HUD element settings provided by TW3, but there are some puzzling exclusions. For example, why can't I disable the damage number spam during combat? This is surely one of the most unimportant HUD elements, yet there doesn't seem to be a way to remove it. Also, I think the "small" HUD could be a little smaller.

On that note, the damage numbers aren't visible for long enough either. I try to see what I hit for and often miss the prompt.

This game is great. For some reason I miss the random hookups from the first Witcher though.

They are talking about time on a single play through. You probably would have to play the game a dozen times to see *all* of the content, but probably 75% or more of that time would involve playing the same content multiple times. Even in a game as good as TW3 the vast majority of content is mostly linear.

AFAIK Skyrim will continue generating random quests and repopulating dungeons so you can play it indefinitely. I don't think TW3 really has any dynamic content outside of some random monster spawns.
