So I just finished the game and am lvl 35. I can run around and do quests, but they're all so low level it's not worth the time.

Is there any lvl 35-40 content once you've beaten the game? Is there any higher level crafted armor after level 34?

There is but you're better off doing NG+ or add the mod where quests give the same exp regardless of lvl

There is a mod that allows you to raise the EXP mobs give. By default, mobs give almost no exp in this game, which is kinda stupid. I used a mod to make mobs give 9x default exp, and you can actually level up killing mobs by doing that.

Care to link it? I only saw the quest one.

I don't get it, so there are few swords that are level 40 and above (found swords level 46) and almost done with a game, traveled almost everywhere, I am level 32 so how am I suppose to use them and what is the point when there is not much to do?

Just finished the game at level 35. Loved it. Wish it hadn't ended so soon. Will definitely buy the expansions and I've never bought any game's expansion before.

so i'm finishing up skellige at level 25 (as far as main quest line goes), and i feel like i'm somewhat overleveled. also i can generally take on monsters 5 levels ahead, which is normally the "this monster will kick your ass" rating.

also, is the witcher school gear worth it? i haven't replaced any of my armor pieces with witcher gear. the stuff i've found is infinitely better stat wise, for the most part.

stacking cat school gear gives the highest damage possible in the game from armor

I went with Griffon Set Gear which made me pretty much invincible as I focused mostly on the signs. Groups that attack me I can just blast them all with fire, dive out the way, and blast again and again. Big single guys that come at me I can use the alternative fire which roasts them on the spot, or if they have a shield I use the stun and then jump behind them and blast them or slash them. I also had the alternative of that too which lets you charm enemies to fight for you. I used that for most of the fights once I had it because it was more fun. And if I ever did take some hits, I would just use the alt version of the shield which converts the damage you take to healing. So I basically never lost a battle after about level 16 ish. Not including the bosses though. There was one boss that I had to try about a million times :/

The witcher armor sets are generally the best items in the game at least until level 35, after that the items that scale to level will be better.

I prefer looks over functionality so I go with full witcher sets and weapons.

just finished. 140hrs, holy shit i got my money's worth out of this game, and i didn't even come close to doing all the quests and covering all of the points of interest. thank you CDPR!

the end boss fight was a bit disappointing IMO. i thought ilmerith and caranthir were both much better challenges, ilmerith in particular. i also really wanted to play as ciri for the last part of the plot. maybe they'll cover that in a separate witcher series (or ciris..hiyooooo). as far as the cut-scene ending, i thought that was a great way to close out the game. left me with a smile on my face.

It's on sale this weekend for $41.99 on gog. With my backlog there's not much justification for considering that, but the reviews seem so positive...

Trying to play this game. I got once into the menu and configured my settings. Then exited out. And now the 'play' button is greyed out so I can't play.

I can't get Nvidia Inspector to work with this game. Has anybody been able too? I added the .exe but none of my settings are doing anything.

Weird, so I guess you HAVE to have the Witcher 3 or later Nvidia drivers for Inspector settings to actually work. Which sucks for me because I've been running the old 350.12 (GTA V) release drivers which have been working great for me whereas I have heard numerous buggy complains about just about every driver since.

I get that Cat Armor is good with the Combat skills tree and Griffin Armor is good with a Signs-heavy build. But what armor set do you recommend for a Alchemy-only build, no strong attack, and only Quen as the main sign. I also got the skill that boosts mutagen effects so my vitality is even higher with the Greater Green mutagens and the alchemy focus.

I am thinking that Bear Armor might be a good fit but Wolf Armor also looks good.

Finally finished the game on Death March at level 35. 😎
Log says I hit 166 hours hehe.
Sad to see the Journey end, but man what a ride.

Just got back to
Kaer Morhen
in the main story and wow is that place beautiful, it has to be one the best looking areas made in a game ever. Makes me want to go on a trip to Alberta and British Columbia just to take in the mountain views.

baller status confirmed. how hard was death march? i wasn't sure if it would be like dark mode on TW1 (2?) where it was nigh impossible.

i did the one below death march, and it was a pretty solid challenge, but not impossible by any means.

what kind of gear/skills did you run?

GTX 970 not good enough for 1080/60 Ultra w/Hairworks? I'm getting 40-50.

Yea thats about right. Not sure what cpu you are using though... youll want a baseline i7 to max out a 970 though. But yea a 970 will max out settings with an average of 60, not a minimum of 60.

I started on the second hardest difficulty but it was proving to be a little too easy. ( I Love a challenge )
Don't get me wrong, I died a fair amount in the beginning and certain fights required many attempts. (Arch Griffons and the General at the end)
I switched to Death March at level 15 roughly.
Basically the things to avoid are standing in the middle of packs,
going toe to toe with the Pike wielding NPC's and generally standing in front
of any big mobs.
Movement is key. I cannot stress this enough. ( I assume you know this) 😀
Quen is your friend, eat breathe and sleep Quen. 😎

As for gear, witcher gear all the way. Its the most balanced and its ahead of other armour at the same level. At the end I had all 3 sets of Master crafted.
I forgot the name but the Heal potion (2 uses) is very helpful.
I used Fast attack 95% of the time. (Whirlwind of Death)
Use the talents that generate adrenaline when using signs etc.
Use gear that boosts Adrenaline gain, the more adrenaline, the more you
can use Quen.

Again this was just my play style, each to his own 🙂
