Anyone know how to reverse the Y axis? I'm getting slaughtered here.

I got the game despite knowing full well running on my system will require low settings.

Athalon 4400 x2 core
NVIDIA 8800 gt
2 gig RAM win xp

Just curious if anyone tried it with similar specs

One thing I've noticed. The graphics setting are all or nothing for anti-aliasing. I see no anisotropic filtering setting. Also, no mouse tab where you can select sensitivity or reverse y axis. The y axis thing is a major problem for me.

Me too. I've reversed my y-axis ever since they invented that axis.

Without reverse y axis the game is essentially unplayable. It's hard to overcome muscle memory and logic (pull back to go up = helicopter and airplane/jet controls). Ugh, CDProjekt should have thought of this. Major snafu for many players.

Yeah, it's pretty crappy that there isn't an option to invert Y axis, but there is a workaround in the user.ini file. Sorry I'm at work and unable to look it up to paste it here, but you can easily google it. Hopefully they'll implement this in a patch soon.

Update on settings. Found a link to GOG forums, and in that post he said that reinstalling drivers without 3D drivers helped his poor performance. I just uninstalled them and it went up from 17 to about 19 on ultra, he went from 17 to 40's, others saw no real benefits. There some 275 beta drivers out that really help some, check Guru3D forums. I tried ultra again, this time without ubersampling and am getting around 40 to 45 now with current drivers. Only seen two boobies so far, not that far along. Triss has some nice ones. Love me some cartoon boobs.

Guys:

To reverse the Y axis you just need to do this:

open the
[drive]:\[name]\My Documents\Witcher 2\Config\User.ini

file and find the MouseSensitivityY token... change it's value to negative by adding '-' before the number.

example: MouseSensitivityY=0.163462
becomes MouseSensitivityY=-0.163462

This only makes the camera reverse axis, within menus it goes back to normal :)

Presto chango. Thanks to _Melk_ at the STeam forums.

I am so tempted to buy it now...but I have so much other stuff to do - it would be a bad idea. :(

That, and I've never finished the first one :( I don't want to have to slag through the first one to play this one, but I don't want to miss out on the story or transfer of characters. :(:(

I had preordered this game through GoG, but decided not to buy it when the e-mial came to pay for it. I did this sicne I have a TON of games already that I haven't played, but after reading the early reviews I think I just may buy the game anyway. I haven't seen anything bad about the game written, other than some bugs (which still is better than the original when it came to bugs at launch).

I still have Dragon Age to play though, but after having to jump through so many hoops just to get that game running due to crappy DRM, I no longer have the inclination to play it.

If you haven't played DA1 or The Witcher 1, play them first and wait for TW2 price to go down. DA1 and TW1 are one of the best rpg games along with Diablo, Bardur's gate, etc.

Skyrim isn't out yet ;)

Well if they keep dumbing down their games ie Morrowind to Oblivion then to Skyrim,it'll be a case of go from A to B game over.

Only games like The Witcher 2 are resisting being dumbed down,I'm a bit alarmed how most RPGs are going that way, so don't get your hopes up too much for Skyrim, you probably won't even have to think to finish Skyrim either ;).

I suppose I will either have to pickup my Witcher 1 play through from 1.5 years ago and finish it (tried to pick it up not too long ago, and couldn't get into it, again) or just restart entirely.

either way, I'm waiting until this game is $10. :awe:
