Uhhh...who ever created this thread clearly has never played any other game. I have The Witcher 2, and I am rather disappointed with the graphics, not only are the animations sluggish, but the graphics them selves are nothing in comparison to other games. The engine really is not top of the line, so I'm not sure what the standards are for those who think this game is top notch.

I have a gtx 580, i5 2500k, 8gb ram, and i have this game running at 1080p ultra settings with ubersampling off. The game engine is not optimized as the game runs at 50fps, and drops significantly at times, i would imagine a 580 could run this at a smooth constant 60fps considering how the game looks.

Wtf? Name other games with better visuals.

It's certainly the best looking role playing game I've played.

Ubersampling kills it for me. Getting 10-15FPS with it enabled. Disabling puts the FPS at 30-40 at 1920x1080. However, there's extreme shimmering and crawling going on during motion without ubersampling enabled, screenshots can't show it, you just have to see it in motion. I will be playing without ubersampling (unless some miracle drivers show up), but the difference is huge in IQ imo. The screen is a lot more clearer with this option on (everything is less pixelated).

Game looks good, really. Texture quality is amazing, everything is so detailed! But the shadows look like sh!t... very "floaty". Wish the game engine was built using DX11 and not DX9. It would either make the game run a lot better with the same IQ or increase the quality quite a bit, especially the shadows...
Textures are detailed? What game are you playing, I swear we cant be playing the same game. Either that, or your standards are really low. I cant believe anyone would say this game is some kind of benchmark for graphics, its no where close.

Either you're trolling or your game is broken.

Not sure who 'ubersampling' is intended for... Either 640x480 gamers running 580SLI or some strange race with technology far beyond ours :D

I can max the game out at 2560x1600 with everything turned as high as it goes, but, ubersampling. I get about 40-70 outdoors and 100+ indoors. My FPS grinds down to 10-20fps with ubersampling turned on, useless feature at this point. If it runs on my rig that poorly, it's not going to run on anyone's rig at a playable framerate. My impression is that it is some sort of supersampling type AA, but it doesn't look like SSAA when enabled, so I'm not really sure what it is beyond an FPS killer.

SLI scaling is piss poor and showing low GPU usage, maybe if that gets fixed it will be somewhat playable with ubersampling on.

Game does look awesome though and never mind the graphics, the gameplay is amazing.

Are you serious?

This is just the very first place... Just loaded a game and made a screenshot. I wasn't even trying... Look at the details on some random dudes, on Geralt... On the background, the scenery... If you could complain about something, the ground looks a bit flat. And this level of detail is everywhere! Show me a game that has a similar level of detail.

EDIT: Forcing SSAAx4 causes a big graphical glitch (can't see anything), performance drops to under 20FPS. MLAA drops the performance to 20-ish FPS too, not much difference in IQ. And yeah, I think this ubersampling is SSAA or something that works in a similar manner.

Seriously it is you that is playing a different game or trolling, the textures are amazing as is everything else. The graphics engine deserves an oscar for detail and lighting.

Every review i've read and so far they are all in the 90s mention how beautiful the graphics are, all i can say is thank god you aren't reviewing games. You are obviously entitled to your opinion but that doesn't mean you are correct and OMG you couldn't be more wrong, maybe you've forgotten to put in your contact lens or have something personal against the studio that made this game.

Now i've played the game for 6 hours and i firmly stand by my original comment, hands down the best lookin game on PC with max settings!!!

Are you using a 360 controller or does it always show the 360 controller buttons? I really hate it when games do that :\.

The cutscene in the beginning of the game is like...15-20fps on a single card.

I tried crossfire, it went down to like 10 fps, lol, negative scaling.

I swear I have to be in a dream or something, I have a bunch of people telling me this is top end graphics... my lord, wake me up.

This is by far some of the lowest standards of PC graphics that I have witnessed in a long time, I fail to see where/how this can even come close to being considered amazing graphics. I'm the troll? Yeh i guess I am, I got my glasses on, and can see quite clear, this is not by any means and I quote "THE BEST LOOKING GRAPHICS ON PC TO DATE"

You've played it for a whole hour and you think it should be the game of the year... and we're only in May.

There goes your credibility, right out the window.

Who needs credibility when you have CAPS LOCK!

GtX 460 SLI o/c , my first impression is, I need to use medium settings , majority for 42-60 fps. With higher IQ settings, things slow down fast. But it does look , very amazing, detailed.

every review begs to differ with you..
maybe you downloaded a ripped game with low only textures..

every vid i have seen and every review and preview I have read flat out said the game sets a new high standard for top end machines and graphics capable on the PC.

Metro 2033 looks a shite load better.

I've played both games. Witcher 2 looks better. Screenshots don't do it justice. It's the lighting and details which still shots cannot show of course.

It's a big call to say it's the "best graphics ever" but to say the graphics are "nothing in comparison" to other games is just trolling.

according to Kotaku Witcher2 will be way up there..
thier quote is

7. It's astonishing to look at—doubly so if your graphics card is up to Ultra settings, but even medium and high looks pretty spectacular. This is one of those all-too-rare games where the PC's technological superiority over its console fun-box cousins simply can't be denied. It's designed to be a PC game, to make the very best of the PC, and it shows—from the remarkable amounts of detail on the characters (you'll wince at the scars and wounds on Geralt's torso) to the rays of orange-yellow light through the dense forest at sunset and sunrise. The Witcher 2 may well be one of the best-looking games in history, and not purely on a technical level. In addition, the vast bulk of the world streams quietly in the background, mean you can wander across huge areas of beautiful landscape without encountering any loading screens. On that level, it's been very strange to have played Witcher 2 preview code in the same week as I played Portal 2

The Witcher reminds me of Age of Kings in the art style.

The game looks good, I wouldn't call the engine producing revolutionary physics or lighting effects, but the CDP spent a lot of time making quality textures and art.

Metro 2033 had a good engine but the game didn't look all that great. Of course with the genre that was probably the intention.

Using an Xbox 360 wireless controller. Works like a treat :)

It feels more natural on the 360 controller than the KB/MO IMO, I thought Fallout 3 was like that too.

I'm very pleased with the graphics, now I just need to figure out the best custom setting that my single 6870 can handle at 1080p. I'll try playing it with a wireless X360 controller since I'm playing it on a tv.

I'm playing the D2D version. Plenty of four letter words and T&A. Doesn't look censored at all to me.

AV1611 out......
