The Wii

Gamestop/EB Games had several of them in our area before christmas... after... who knows, but a few of the stores had at least three of them in stock which is pretty good compared to the other stores that would not be getting them in until after the first of the year.

Target had some yesterday, they sold out before I got there in time though 😛 Call the stores and ask when the shipments are arriving...my buddy at Target said that they are Fedexed straight to the store and are usually sold out by noonish.

I call my local target, they tell me they get deliveries in the evening and that i should check back tomorrow morning.

I call the local Walmart and the lady tells me "They said febuary" then hung up on me.

Lame.

my wii that i was able to order online from Target last Friday is out for delivery on the UPS truck now...should be there when I get home from work today...🙂

I got lucky at a rural Walmart around 1 pm the friday before Christmas...picked up the last one they had in stock....Very fun system, the wait is worth it.

EB seems to be about the worst place to try. They get very few. Target or Toys R Us seem to get the most.

yeah, i overheard a employee at EB on Tuesday say they got 3 in and they sold within 5 minutes.

plus you figure more people will look at the video game stores 1st since thats all they sell.

I called target and they said they got 6 this morning...they had 3 left I asked to hold one of course they did not.

So I ditched work quick, drove really fast...took 15 minutes, sold out -_-. I was super pissed.

At the TRU here in town, there was a line the other day of about 100 people, all waiting for the *chance* to pick up a Wii. Not sure if any showed up that day or not.

My guess is that you won't be able to go in the store and buy one until March at the earliest. I read somewhere that Nintendo has sold 4 million Wii's or so... but that number seems high. Anyone have a more realistic number?

I have a friend that works at EB and he informed me when the shipment came in. Seems they have been getting them regularly on Fridays (in my area anyways) Even with him doing this, it took me a while to get mine.

Nintendo intended to sell 4 million before the end of the year.

claims about 2 million sold thus far which is probably fairly accurate.

Just picked mine up, got a buddy who works at Target who saved one for me from this morning's shipment. Then I stopped over at Toys R Us to pick up some more controllers and they had 2 in stock lol. w00t!: D

they are getting pretty common, just call around to some stores in the morning and you'll probably find one, my friend's girlfriend just found one at target about an hour ago, no idea how many they had. this is in Richmond, VA

I got mine off of craigslist used from someone just trying to get rid of it, so they didn't charge much over retail, you might have some luck there.

Yeah I was surprised to find any left at Toys R Us. They had a full complement of games and accessories available, I now have 4 sets of controllers, a spiffy Wii CD case (waste of $9.99 but makes me feel special), Zelda, and Super Monkey ball. Just waiting on my PulseVU modchip to begin a-hackin! 😀
