Gonna be bad tomorrow. I'll probably leave the AC on for my dog.

Seattle is like the middle of winter right now, blegh. I hate not having seasons. Some weather guy did an analysis and found that since June 1st, Seattle has only had 78 minutes of over-80F temperatures. Only 18h 48m of over 75F. And we haven't had a "sunny" day (defined as 30% or less cloud cover) since July 6th.

Living here makes me want to shoot myself in the face.

I'll happily trade this humid sticky shit for some more rainy days. It rains an assload here anyway, but I hate the heat that much.

You need to learn to appreciate what you have. Last week people here were complaining because it was 70 and cloudy a few days in a row. I fucking loved it. Could just open all the windows and let the house cool itself. Now the AC is running nonstop and I don't even want to think about how much the power bill is going to be.

I'd live in goddamn Alaska if I could. Short, mild summers, and in winter, who cares? Cold's cold, just pile on more layers.

Although the north shore of Lake Superior right here in MN isn't bad either. The lake really does a good job of keeping temps comfortable.

Ha, totally. I like to say you can always put more clothes on, but you can only take so many off before you're arrested.

Agreed. It's so much easier/cheaper to warm up and stay warm than it is to cool yourself down and stay cool.

116.6 in Toronto, ON

His link says feels like 30 (86), weather network says feels like 47 (117). Little bit of difference there...

What was really sick was that at 6am the heat index was 38 (100). at 6 freaking am.

i would much rather be cold than hot, for the reasons you give, but i would MUCH rather live in a place that is hot year round than a place that is cold year round. i like to do things outside that are better off done in warm weather than cold weather.

Time to hit the beaches I suppose. It's disgusting outside. They also took down a huge oak tree and logged it and the smell is horrible. Smells like dog shit!

Might as well just get naked and lose the tan lines!

Temp: 98.1F
Heat Index: 109F
Humidity: 45%

I fully expect that the temperature will read 105+ by 3pm. Here in central texas, we haven't had a day below 100 since June 25. We also haven't had a day below 92 since may... and accumulated less than 3 inches of rain since October of 2010.

Fuck this weather.

Get ready for the rolling blackouts or brownouts.
They say the power grid is ready but as I look around I see lots of trees quite close to those transmission lines. As the load increases the lines get hotter and longer so they sag lower. When they touch a tree BAM! This is exactly what triggered the big blackout in 2003...

If the power goes out and there's no a/c that will suck badly for lots of people that don't have backup power. Luckily we do.

The good news it's supposed to be ~5 degrees hotter tomorrow. Can't wait!

On the flip side, hasn't this summer been kinder to us so far? Didn't we have over 90 days with temperatures in the 90's last year? At least this year it seems like we're getting some breaks between hot stretches (last weekend was wonderful).

Also, I was outside earlier (around 11:00) and in my car for a little bit. The car really sucked (no ac, windows open), but outside in the shade it wasn't terrible. Probably helps that I'm wearing shorts today instead of the normal pants.

Either way this weekend is gonna be fun. I'm going to the billy goat trail sunday, and potentially saturday as well. Wheeee!

"We" as in Maryland? If so, no, we didn't have 90 90F+ last year. The record is 54 days over 90F in a calendar year.
