The War On Christmas: [Starbucks]

oh god, I have seen this crap posted three times by the local patch site on Facebook, it seems likea desperate attempt to stir up some controversy since maybe news is slow as of late....

Who gives a shit about a cup color, honestly, and if anything people should just expect Starbucks to be as either neutral or progressive as they can get away with

Let me give you a SERIOUS reply there even if it's clear that the pastor who posted this is a troll.

I am not religious and I don't go to church. But I feel that Christmas is a part of our culture, whether someone believes in Jesus or nor. I always loved Christmas and this includes the silly and kitchy symbols, whether it's Santa, Christmas trees or red nosed rendeers.

I pisses me off to no end when PC is overtaking wanting to remove what is foundations of our Western culture. NO OTHER CULTURE does that.

I think Starbucks "explanation" idiotic and I don't support this. There is no reason that we need to "hide" our cultural identity, our holidays and symbols. Nada. NULL.

I think the pastor is an idiot "...because Starbucks hates Jesus"...but Starbucks are idiots as well saying "...we want everyone tell their story"...pseudo/fake justification what is just another form of PC to please some minorities. Pretty lame.

Christians arent going to suicide bomb your house and behead your dog

What about bombing your office building?

#1, note it is the War On Christmas. See the red part below:

You lost me right there. I vote we stop calling it that and stop talking about it altogether because no-one gives a shit. Call the holiday what you want and if you offend someone , that is their problem. "Merry Christmas" said to a non-christian isnt any more offensive to say than "happy monday" to a person that doesn't like Mondays. It's a kind greeting that is all. Lets all get over it and stop making BOTH the faux outrage for it and the faux outrage against it an issue.

Red without reindeer? That's communism. We need to put the Santa back in Christmas! What is it with businesses neglecting our consumerist icons? I'm outraged!

Also, what's with the pagan tart with the pentagram? Hmmm, maybe Stella Maris, maybe not so outraged.

Agree. But I do find delicious irony in those outraged by another's outrage. Outrage must be in vogue these days.

I find that offensive 😉

But I wouldn't call me outraged by everyone outrage so much as ... Just sick of everyone's constant whining.
/edit... But now here I am whining about everyones whining. I cant win.

As much as this is a story about a small, tiny, minuscule percentage of Christians who want to rage... this is also a story about a vast quantity of people who want to make fun of religion. This news item would have had zero traction, if it were not for those who take pleasure in bashing religion.

Blame the victim.

When religion deserves the bashing then that's a useful function for those folks to engage in. This story falls into the spectrum of deserving a good bashing although admittedly not on the extreme end of the scale with things like the Westboro Baptist Church folks or this:

You have little ability to understand perspective on this subject.

Well you have people like Joshua Feuerstein who are making a big deal out of this. He even touts his handgun in his vid bitching about it and uses veiled threats of violence. This man has almost 2 million followers on Facebook. If this were a Muslim doing this, people in the US would be freaking out about it.

What exactly are you arguing?

It is right to be overly angry at Christianity because some people are overly angry at Muslims?
