The War On Christmas: [Starbucks]

Before we get into it; I propose a new format when speaking about the War On Christmas.

#1, note it is the War On Christmas. See the red part below:
The War On Christmas: [Starbucks] - the red that says The War On Christmas, is the part that indicates it is about The War On Christmas.

#2, in brackets, note the person(s) declaring and committing an act of War, on Christmas. In this case, it is Starbuck. Or rather, [Starbucks].

In this story, Starbucks has launched an early assault on Christmas. Clearly this is a early sign of a much more broader and ramped up efforts this year: they have have gone with a minimalist approach to their "Holiday" coffee cup design.

As you can clearly see in the evidence above, they have SHREDDED the message of this time of year: Merry Christmas.

Ok, ok, SURE a company can choose to do whatever it wants - but, this is the birth of God that we are talking about.

“This is a denial of historical reality and the great Christian heritage behind the American Dream that has so benefitted Starbucks,” Andrea Williams of the U.K.-based organization Christian Concern told Breitbart. “This also denies the hope of Jesus Christ and His story so powerfully at this time of year.”

I mean, sure the presence of God is noted on the very money you use to buy this God-less cup of coffee (well, in the US anyway). And of course what you do in the privacy of your own home should be more than enough to validate your own personal relationship with a God not everyone believes in. But, when a private company decided to not ram a piece of Christian originating decoration into the gullets of the masses - it is clearly a Pearl Harbor-esque attack on Christianity and Christmas.

Also, if someone complained about the coffee having Merry Christmas on it - it's Social Justice Warrior pukes that make everyone sick. But, when it is a Christian complaining that there isn't Merry Christmas on a cup of coffee - it is a clear act of war.

EDIT: ... please move this to P&N.

Yeah I find it ridiculous that some people actually get offended at the word Christmas, and it's sad that companies today keep catering to the pussification of society. People get offended at everything and companies and government just cater to it.Here's what I say to those people: Merry Christmas, you filthy animal!

I'm actually kind of excited for this Christmas season for some reason, I'm probably going to put up the tree soon. I like to wait till at least after the 11th to respect the war veterans though. My lights are red and white though, so technically, it could symbolize patriotism. 😀

On similar train of thought, why is it that people are ready to offend and fight against Christianity but are scared to offend Muslims?

Christians arent going to suicide bomb your house and behead your dog

i've only ever meet the people that are upset about this supposed 'war on christmas' and they need to mind their own damn business

The only reason I'm waging war on Christmas, is because it's starting earlier and earlier every year!

Next year, people are going to be decorating for Christmas the day after Independence Day!

Just keep Christmas confined to December and I'll be happy.

No it's not. Christmas has nothing to do with the non-birth of fictional zombie Jesus. The Romans were conquering Europe and forcing their subjects to convert or die. They had less trouble if they allowed them to keep their traditional seasonal holidays. So the pagans kept celebrating Saturnalia and the christians shoved Jesus into the story hundreds of years later. Even if Jesus had been real he could not have been born in December according to the stories in the bible.

The most offensive part of it are all the Christians(usually just the vague Fox News/RW Media Christians) who trot out their persecution complex because some people have chosen a more inclusive greeting for a period of the year.

It is not a War on Christmas, it is an embracing of multiple segments of society.

If you're not with the Christians, you're against the Christians.

I'm not understanding the story here. The cup is red. That is a holiday color. What are we supposed to be mad about?

Meh... Not everyone really cares about your religion when they're just trying to get some coffee. Stop with the persecution complex already. It's boring and ridiculous.

WTF.

That's just wrong mate.

There's actually people starting to put their lights on already. 😀 Super crappy phone pic from a house across from mine:

We just need snow now, it's pretty crazy to still not have snow at this time of year. But with El Nino we probably wont get much this year.

First, you need to understand Starbucks introduced the cups to the UK and Europe weeks ago; the U.S. just got the cups.

Second, there are Christians of every stripe in the UK and Europe, just like in the U.S., so any perceived slight that would potentially offend the U.S. evangelicals will surely piss off the U.K./Euro conservative evangelicals, too, which is why the quote above exists. The U.K. evangelicals are pissed about no reindeer or Santas on the cups, you know, all those Christian symbols of Christmas.

This is an outrage! I want my Hanukkah colored cup now! And my Ramadan colored cup! and where is my Kwanzaa colored cup....OUTRAGE!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the stupidest, nonsensical faux issue I have seen in such a long time...stupid stupid stupid

I am holding up a mirror - the madness you see is your own.

Enjoy.
No, you've gone beyond that. Your obsession has turned the corner. Your mind is so filled with these obsessive thoughts that it must continually spew them out in thread after thread after thread.

In the beginning I thought it was your shtick. Then, I thought it was an obsession. Now, I see that it's mental illness. Your mind is in a constant struggle with good and evil battling it out. The battle must continue for it has become the reason for your existence.

Have you noticed how so many don't understand what it is you're doing? You, in your arrogance think the problem lies with them. It helps you to justify your behavior. But it's not them, it's you. Your thought processes that to you seem so very rational, so clear, so defining are to many people at the least concerning and to some rather bizarre.

Your obsessive and compulsive behavior will continue, I know that. I've made this post so that others might understand what drives you, why you make so many posts, one after another with the same underlying theme. It's in you and it's got to get out. You're just fighting a battle.

In this case over coffee cups.
