We are just 1 week away so I figured it's a good time to start a new thread for season 7. We will finally get to see who Negan chose in the lineup. I've read some theories out there (some interesting, some crazy), however I doubt it would be Daryl as he's too popular at this point.

Either way I'm super excited and feel like this season should bring on a new tone that the series kind of lacked lately, mainly an element of despair and defeat to the group as we now have a viable villain.

I think Michonne is gonna meet Lucille. No one who loves Rick lives!

Also, I wonder if the tiger eats walkers.

AMC has overpromoted this season opener to the point where I no longer give a shit who Negan killed. Just get it over with and get on with the show.

I think it will either be the red headed guy or the mullet guy.

I think it's going to be Michonne because this show is like Casper...once you achieve fulfillment, you die. Michonne is finally happy now that she's with Rick...time to go bye bye!

Glen would be the obvious choice, but he's a fan favorite & it would be all too obvious for them to follow the comics (I don't even read the comics, but it's been spoiled enough...). Abraham would be the next logical choice, but I'd really miss the comedy interaction between him & Mr. Mullethead.

Seriously, fuck off, they've turned killing characters off into a gimmick.

I had previously guessed it was Big Red or mulletman that got to suck the big one but after that latest clip with Negan talking about a right hand man, I now think it's Michonne (even though Daryl would technically be Rick's right hand man; Michonne is close enough and mah boy Rick can never be allowed to be happy apparently).

Either way, really looking forward to it. Negan looks to be like a true badass and a villian I can actually like, unlike The Governor who was just a doucheface.

I actually liked the Governor, there were only two problems: one, they extended his story out too long, and two, I hated Andrea's character (not in a good way, like in a bad acting & bad writing way and she got too much screen time & was just boring way). But I liked his character because like Shane, the Governor was another slice of Rick...he had setup a town, he cared for his people, and at the core, he had a zombie daughter that he desperately wanted to revive through science, which is understandable because like Hershel, he was in denial about the reality of the situation because he didn't know they were gone-gone. But I think that's what make the Governor good, he was so close to Rick, just forked down a different path a bit. And we see this a bit with Rick down the road when he gets pretty brutal at times.

I liked the first two seasons a lot, and it's felt like they've just dragged it on a bit too much. I still like the story, but it needs to be compressed & have more action per episode. Also, they cheap out on endings. Like the built up the Terminites the entire season, and then took them out in basically one episode. It seems like Negan will be a good season-long villain & hopefully not either be defeated in a few episodes, but also not be dragged out into two seasons.

Fat chance, he's still pretty much the main character.

Besides, this show sticks pretty close to the comic books and I think that we all know who was killed off in the comics by now.

pretty much the main character?

the show is a joke, and I'm interested to see how they're going to fill the entire episode with fluff and end with what should be the opening death. Maybe they'll even make you guys wait until episode 2!

Hmmm, yeah that's an interesting take on the Governor I hadn't thought about before. I'm not sure I'd call him very close to Rick though; I agree there's some similarities but I don't think he's morally very close to Rick at all. But I could see parts of Rick in him. And Andrea... man yeah I couldn't stand her. Ugh she just sucked. It seemed like she was trying way too hard to be "tough" or badass and to me she just came off as a poser, lol. If I had been part of the group I would've wanted to tell her to STFU and mind her own business half the time.

IIRC, Negan has a code, by which he will not harm women.

I think Abraham is going bye bye, though, it could very well be Daryl, on account of the other show that Norman Reedus stars in now (some biker thing?).

The only reason I'll continue to watch is to see JDM as Negan. I love me some sweet, sweet JDM action.

I think it's Daryl.

Just watched a small clip for the new season and Negan asked Rick if the person he was pointing to was Rick's right hand man. Plus, Norman is involved with a new show.

If it's not Daryl, it will probably Abraham, Mulletboy, or Michonne. The actress who is playing Michonne is playing in a movie about Tupac's life. She's playing his mother. They aren't going to start production until next year, so she's probably safe. The reason I don't think it's Abraham and Mulletboy is because that is what most people are expecting. The producers are going to throw us a curve ball. If Daryl dies many people who watch the show are going to be left in shock. This is exactly what they want.

If it is Daryl, it seems the "safest" in that he is the guy that I can see going out by being bludgeoned to death in the head and not be too disgusted. Seems too violent for anyone else for some reason -- maybe except Rick.

If they kill Glenn then feel free to perma ban me mods. Glenn is my favourite character and if they kill him I'm officially done. Like this post so mods can see and perma ban me if Glenn dies.
Perma ban incomming....

2 people will die I think, Glen is one of them, Maggie will/should be losing the baby as well....

What an episode. I thought for sure someone was gonna lose an arm.

Yeah, that was a doozy. First episode in a while that left much of an impact.

IMO Daryl might as well be dead too. He's not going back to the town so they'll just keep him out of the show until he wants back in.

I was pretty sure losing an arm wouldn't happen. That stuff just adds a ton of cost to a show if it happens to a long running character.

Now we get to see in the next few weeks if the show makers have learned their lesson and stop with the whole "who will we kill next" teasing game because they used up the entirety of their audience's patience for that crap last season. I half expected this episode to just cut to Morgan and Carol instead. That is exactly the kind of thing that I've come to expect from them. Hopefully that type of cheap attempt at generating fake interest has died with the last season.
