haven't watched a single episode of S4 because I did not care for how S3 ended and the direction the show was going towards

read some episode summaries of S4 episodes and I see that the Governor is assaulting the prison again...

based off of the above, is the show worth watching?

Yes, the governor story line was starting to get on my nerves as well. It was a good storyline, but they ran with it as long as it should have been, if not longer. I kind of felt the same way with the Herschel's farm - they dragged that for a little too long I felt.

But this season has NOT been "about" the governor at all. He's had a few short appearances, and the last [what, three?] episodes have been entirely focused on him but they did treat that well. It was a strong and fitting conclusion to a chapter of the story, and now they will move on.

The first episode was a little dull, but the season quickly kicks into gear from episode 2 and ran with it through to the mid-season finale; there was a good distinct part of the story completely devoid of the governor for story purposes.

I was thinking about skipping this season as well after lame-ass season 3, but I'm glad I decided to watch it again. Entertaining and enjoyable season 4 so far through the midway point. Wingnutz said they have a new showrunner this year, and has fixed the show as much as possible, which definitely seems to be the case.

The budget appears to be larger as well since stuff did actually happen in the prison attack. Although, not having Rick and the main crew in two episodes may saved some money but I don't really know how film budgets work. Last season it just seemed like they ran out of money before the finale and the show has had issues with their budget since the beginning.

[/I]would say is "There was a lot of blood on that baby carrier", clearly being coy.

My theory is that the alcoholic guy from the Waterboy picked up the baby. Remember he got shot through the shoulder, right? He and his two buddies were also in the courtyard and we saw them falling back about the time the kids abandoned the baby. Unless I'm off on the geography, I bet they could've easily picked up the kid as they retreated.

So far I haven't seen anybody else propose this, so I fully intend to gloat if proven correct.

I think he was the one skinning rats/being psycho too. Maybe he will up his game to babies.

just watch the mid-season finale. it was by far the best episode in the season. there wasn't too much else that happened other than the final episode which drives them away from the prison, which was enough to keep my interest and i might ... JUST MIGHT ... watch it when it comes back a few months, because they will now be out on the run again.

I walked in on my wife watching one of the last episodes. It is clear the kid that play's Rick's son is Rick's son in real life. Neither of them can pretend to cry.

Frank Darabont Sues AMC Over The Walking Dead

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/12/17/frank-darabont-sues-amc-over-the-walking-dead

The plaintiffs claim AMC placed a perpetual, artificially low cap on the imputed fees it would pay its production arm for episodes of The Walking Dead. It says AMC paid over a million dollars less per episode of The Walking Dead than it paid to Lionsgate for Mad Men, despite the fact that The Walking Dead had four times Mad Men’s viewership. This cap would virtually guarantee that the series' balance sheet would always show a deficit, no matter how successful it was and no matter how long it ran. That would result in Darabont getting nothing.

is this the same thing studios pull on movies?

Lies. Everyone knows piracy is why they never make a profit. They post it all over the interwebs and on my DVD's so it must be true.

Anyone else excited to watch the back 8 episodes of season 4? With the prison destruction scattering all the small pockets of people everywhere, there could be some interesting new storylines. I'm sure there will be new characters introduced as some of the scattered "core" characters try to survive in the world.

I'm looking forward to it. Yeah yeah yeah, we've heard all the bitching about logical inconsistencies in the show and all that (and the complaints are usually valid), but at the end of the day it's still entertaining to me. Anyone else planning to watch?

This.

But I am definitely very interested to see what is going to happen. I've always preferred the story lines in which they are on the move compared to where they are settled in one place.

Them being on the move will, at the very least, make it far less about Carl being out of the house again and actual problems.

Hopefully, they kill of most of the cast GoT style and introduce some good characters.

Right there with you, I liked the first season most because it was really them just trying to figure out how the heck to survive. Running for their lives at every turn, never feeling safe anywhere. Walking in the woods was creepy, and you knew at any time all hell could brake loose. When they're relatively safe inside a prison or when they were at the farm it because more of a soap opera with character vs character drama BS instead of survival. That stuff was boring, I much prefer them being on the run.

I do like this season so far. It seems like more of a do-over from the second half of last season.
