How does this episode get filed under filler? Carols story arc ending is pretty major since she's been in the group since season one, and it was about 1/3rd the episode...

This wasn't a hey we're farming, hey clearing zombies off the fence, oh look digging another grave for a red-shirt episode.

It wasn't filler; it was another "here we go putting ourselves into stupid situations without explaining how we escaped other situations (like the giant herd of walkers between them and the vet clinic) and we start to have character development to have some macho garbage ruin expanding on a character's demons and then the same macho garbage when they immediately resurface episode".

I do wish Tyrese had ripped off that walker's arms and beat him to death with them though. I was waiting for that. He needs to just go into Beast Mode and kill.
 
I can't believe I forgot to mention this last night, but that lead-acid battery that Daryl refreshed with distilled water would have been every bit as dead as the one in the car. It's been sitting there through two winters without a tender too. Good electrolyte alone doesn't make a charged battery.

Oh yeah! And, um- "I am done with this show. DONE!" 😉
 
Was sad to see Carol go. I really thought she had become one of the more interesting characters on the show and was a good balance to all of the dudes. Since they did not kill her though, I assume she will be back. I also thought she might run into the Governor, but I hope that is not the case.

The alcoholic guy is dumb, I kind of wish that would go away. Such a lame storyline.

Overall I thought it was a pretty solid episode.

My problem is they just took it to an incredibly stupid place. He was struggling with alcoholism, and it ended up costing someone their life. And, he opened up up about feeling responsible for getting that kid killed to Daryl, who just fed him some macho crap. After, he is being incredibly helpful at the vet, but doesn't put anything except a single bottle of whiskey (or whatever it was) in his bag. I understand him being protective and even defensive about it, but he was lucid in everything up until that point Daryl again confronted him with macho crap. He was inspecting medication and talking dosage as well as spotted the vet clinic walkers has being flu infected.

I wish they had gone a much better route with this guy. He could have easily had a much darker, real life story. Succumbing back to alcoholism and self destructing would make for much better than him acting how they wrote it. However, I feel he is probably going to die soon anyway.

Totally agree. If they are going to bother going with a story like that, they need to do it right and not just have it so eye-rollingly ridiculous like what happened at the vet.

He'd need to desulfate the battery, and recharge it.

I think the tires may have also gone flat by that time, and have flat spots.

She's still living at my brother's apartment complex even though the episode was filmed months ago. She and her dog, Lincoln, were even at the Halloween party with Ichinisan on Thursday. If she weren't still involved with the series I'm sure she'd be long gone by now.

I'm so sick of Tyreese. I just want him to go away. Guy portraying him can't act his way out of a paper bag and this constant raging and acting like an idiot is going to get people killed.
 
please enlighten me, why did carol kill those two people? were they the first sick ones and she was trying to protect the group? it seemed to me that the sickness already spread and she just killed those two people after to was too late. personally i don't like this story line

I liked how they revealed Lori was too stupid to fix decent pancakes. After 12+ years of marriage, she still couldn't fix a simple breakfast. So not only was she an awful wife and mother, she couldn't even cook.

I could understand her not cooking them perfect the first couple tries, but not being able to mix the batter? A 4 year old could do that...

I always hated her character. I wish they hadn't waited so long to kill her. She should have died before Rick found the camp. I would have been much happier if Shane had just been taking care of Carl, rather than taking care of Lori's "needs" an hour after they left her husband behind.

Rick and Carol were talking. Carol was talking about realizing she had the strength she does now and her past with the abusive husband, then it turned to Sofia, and then Rick brought up how incompetent Lori was. Even as filler, she is incompetent.
