Dat ho looked like his daughter... Of course you weren't refering to that type of "head"...

And the blond girl (Andrea?) is really the most annoying character on the show. Always making a case to do the stupid thing...

That's the first thing that came to my mind too. Is he fucking his daughter? lol

So apparently a zombie bite causes a lethal infection in all cases. I pulled that quote from http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Zombies#Reanimation

OK...but that quote implies that you need to die from an infection, and that the virus doesnt cause death. Its even stated that you can stub your toe, get an infection (that actually happened to a friend of mine who has diabetes), and you die from that (my friend didnt die, almost lost his foot), you turn into a zombie. Infection or blood loss kills you. Later on in the amputation section:

A person can survive a zombie bite if the bitten limb is amputated. In the comic book, Dale is the only character known to have survived this process while both Morgan Jones and Allen died of either blood loss, bacterial infection or clots (unknown due to a constant lack of professional opinion).

Bacterial infection. It seems like you should be able to clean the wound and take some antibiotics and have no issues, assuming you have anitbiotics. The infection they are talking about might be something like an accelerated gangreen, as I would think a zombies mouth is pretty filthy. Or something similar to a Komodo Dragon's bite. OR just a simple bacterial infection that goes untreated.

And the Governor seems to be up to no good. I wouldnt trust anyone who wouldnt give me my weapons. I thought he was just capturing people to grow his community, but he outright killed the soldiers. I would want soldiers around for defense and genetic diversity. As someone else commented, probably some zombie juice in the tea to help with immunities or something. Although I dont think the LT was infected, so maybe he is just crazy and likes collecting heads. hahaha, it would be messed up if we find out his name and he ends up being some notorious serial killer who escaped from the prison.

About the scientist/chemist guy who is experimenting on the zombie heads. While they were in the lab, did you notice when the Governor said something like "what would I do without you, you make my tea for me. Is there something in that tea that he needs for some reason? A drug, a medicine, some kind of zombie antidote or transformation retardant?

Too much was made of the tea for it not to be significant. The guy kept messin' with it at the table and pushing it on everyone. But then on Talking Dead, an executive producer said that it was an in-joke referring to one of the writers. Still, why would the heads be in water otherwise unless perchance it is a preservative to slow their decay even more and/or retard the stench?

Serial killers collect trophies right?

He is the dexter of the walking dead world...sort of😀

Do you think any are relations and if so why keep the recent soldier?

Also, the helo crashing looked surprisingly good -like a model rather than CGI?

Too early to tell.

Either he is really sic and demented who will do anything to retain power or he does what he does for the greater good of the group in his care.

Why would he kill soldiers? Fear that they will upset the delicate balance of his society? those with weapons have power right? Those with better weapons have better power.

Still too soon to make an accurate guess.

Yes, heli crash was superb🙂

I thought it was pretty obvious. You nailed it.

Why pander and risk new guys into your place when they're the one with considerable stockpile of weapons? Just off them and you're strengthened, and those weapons are yours with no strings.

Any organized group with a leader is a threat to his leadership. While if he rescues strays who need help, like Merle, then they will be loyal to him.

Playing devil's advocate, those soldiers were deserters who abandoned women and children, and deserved to be shot.

Kill him, sure. But why keep his head? Putting aside the others since unknown sources, it alone is proof of his murdering and lies and so keeping it better have overwhelming advantage versus being discovered.

But then again, people in real life are inconsistent.
Imagine her situation, only from her perspective. I'm not sure she did anything in this episode that would be "stupid."

From her perspective, no. But from what the viewer knows, this is the bitch that sides with Shane, is a bitch to Dale who is watching out for her, and now, is making the case to stay with and support some c*nt murderer.

He also had the heads of Michonne's two zombies in the bottom row of aquariums. Methinks this has to do about control. To me, he's a control freak and the heads personify his control.

It's odd, but Daryl is literally the only character I like on this show at this point. Yet it's been entertaining this season. I wouldn't mind if Rick's wife died, Rick died from an infected asshole, Carl was slowly disemboweled, and the rest of the dry-wall personalitied group just withered & died.

Anyone else notice the major product placement on the tea maker?

It's pretty much this.. The Gov is more of a cultist than a stand up leader type. He pulls in the disenfranchised and only keeps those loyal to him.

hahaha i did and I have one. Haven't had any loose tea in awhile though.

I've gotta agree that I don't like many of the characters on the show. The ending of season 2 teased at a cool new character that slaughters zombies with a katana and we get an emotionless boring angry woman with no character.

I like Rick now more after killing that obviously contemptible criminal. I would have killed him as soon as he raised his gun at me though. 🙄 😀

Probably nitpicking but man those soldiers just stood up like idiots even when being fired upon. That scene was actually comical the way they just fell over like wooden soldiers.

Yes, and no soldiers guarding the perimeter....no lookouts as well.....wtf???

If they are that stupid then they deserve to die...lol!

This third episode was quite interesting I liked how the focused on a different story.

kind of reminded me of LOST where they would focus on the main characters one episode then on the others the next.

although this episode of walking dead was extremely boring and LOST wasn't.
