Decided I couldn't participate this time. To everyone else, be safe out there.

Are you too concerned if the democrats win they may try to work within the constitutional powers they are given to rectify some of the imbalance of power in our system?

That should be implemented for all elections, but will never happen because republicans can't grasp how it works.

Based on my xp, this seems accurate. I simply point them at videos online to see how it works and other countries using it

Videos are fake. How many Trumpanzees will say that "Trump didn't say that" immediately after being show a video of him saying it.

Early voting is done. Travis County at 116% of 2016. Total turnout 65% of registered voters.

Texas exceeded 2016 voter turnout by over 800k right now. Might hit 13milion total voters. Right now we are up to 57% of registered voters voting.

Aren't you really strangely purpleish? I mean, first Michael Steele, and now your current governor. I know, at least you guys elect sane Republicans.

I used to think that, but then Hogan voted for Reagan last week.

I've been monitoring that story, it's a wild one indeed, could you imagine the bat-shit level of insanity in the GOP
if Texas actually flipped blue?, I don't think it's ever happened, but with so many people so sick and tired of Trump
perhaps it will flip.

Carter carried TX in 76. The argument has been made, especially in recent years, that Texas is not a Red state but instead a Bluish-Purple state with low voter turnout partly by design and partly from apathy. The state continues to rapidly shift politically though as evidenced by the 2018 senate election and mounting GOP losses in suburban Texas which have now put their state legislative control in jeopardy.

This is one potential downside of states that have the shit gerrymandered out of them like Texas. The whole point of gerrymandering is to make it so your opponents have a few districts they win by like 99-1 while you have a ton of districts you win 60-40. The problem is if your state shifts 11 points to the other side you end up with a ton of districts you lose 51-49.

Yeah with a big enough shift the design can break down quite catastrophically. And the growing sun belt (except FL) be a shiftin.

As of yesterday 66% of registered have voted, 98% of 2016 turnout. Today is the last day for early voting.

I think the danger is they _won't_ try and do that. Biden is likely too conservative to face what needs to be done.

I stand corrected and gladly so, more encouragement is that Harris county, (Houston area), Dems won local elections in 2018 and increased voting spending from $4 million in 2016 to $31 million this year, now there were 24 hour drive-through voting and many more polling places open later hours. In a bizarre split with the GOP Governor Abbot added 6 days of early voting in July, Texas GOP members recently tried to sue but lost, in the same token Abbot was responsible for a single drop-box for each county, this pissed off these people aplenty and the early vote has been staggering. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/20...g-out-record-numbers-could-they-flip-n1245165

So is Texas like Violet Beauregarde, slowly turning purple thanks to the efforts of an orange oompa-loompa?

Lets hope so,Texas is worth 38 points, it is the GOP California and a loss there is game, set, match right out of the gate. For the love of God how anyone can watch this fucking tool fly around in "super-spreader" events and still vote for him
is beyond bizarre. In days prior Trumpanzee's got left by the road in frigid weather and Thursday in Tampa, (it's been really hot here) had 17 people pass out due to the heat, of course being all packed in didn't help but these epic fucking morons will gladly risk passing out, not wear a mask to support their cult leader.
