Wow, these sound really good but I don't know if it's worth that much for a pillow. Of course, If I buy one of these for $50, I would have just paid for 3 of the department store ones. I guess I have to try them out! 🙂

so I tried the Costco pillow for about a week now..and it's too soft. I lay down on it and it smashes flat. I guess for my neck problems I'll have to cough up for the Brookstone. :frown:

anji65: Head over to JCPenney and check out the one I mentioned. "Flat" definately does not apply to this pillow. It's quite dense and will not flaten out. 🙂

Rab: The pillow looks like this: Isotonic Pillow, although in the store they call it "The Contour Pillow." I'm not sure what that Fieldcrest you linked to is all about. It may not even be Memory Foam. 🙁

The current JCPenney sale is not reflected on their website; it's in store only.

wow that's really bizzaro you must have way hella big noggin =) my costco doesn't even remotely smash flat at all. In fact it's a tad bit stiff until the heat sets in a molds it.

I was going to order the pillow at Camping World but I thought I'd check my local JC Penney store first and maybe get that one, when I found out they don't carry a smart foam pillow I walked over to Dillard's and found one for only $30. It's at the store as well at their website. This might be a pretty good deal.

I like the one at Camping World cause it's less expensive and a bit larger so if the quality is the same I'll get that one if the one at Dillard's is better quality I'll get it insteas.

Looking at the alternate view I'd say that was one piece solid construction at Dillards. But they don'y show the hand print.
You'll have to go there, open one up and check for yourself, I guess, unless it's on one of Atrac's many mall visits. 🙂
It better not be a good one. I just bought one and that price is darn good.

Yeah, WTF? I dont want to offend you, but do you have a huge head or something? Maybe you didnt buy the right one. At first I thought that the pillow was too stiff. But it grows on you, after a while it gets better and better.

Also I personally like the head contour, but it takes a little getting use to. when I lay down onto other pillows I am wondering where the neck support is.

Yeah, I think you're right, the one at Dillards is probably much better because the pillow at the store has a picture of the hand print on it though the one at the website doesn't. Another thing, the dimensions of the one at the store are 21" x 14 3/4" x 14 1/2" while the website has it 20x14".

Also shipping at camp world went up to $1.99 from $1. It's only a buck but worth mentioning I guess.

I have been using these types of pillows for about 5 years, would not think of going back I love them.
I had been using cheap ones then my wife go a job here.
She brought one home for me about a month ago the thing is was heavy compared to the cheap ones I was buying... So buy a good is KEY.
This new one blow the cheap ones away.

Received my Tempur pillow today purchased from ebay - has "Tempur" on the pillow case, the foam has a sewn cloth cover that is not removable (is this usual?) and weighs a ton (no wonder they all want $8 to ship - using the old Priority rate it was $7.70).

I paid $28 for a 4" Queen - that is very low - due to:

* I waited patiently and avoided auctions where newbies pushed the prices high
* Looked for Sunday auctions (usually the lowest prices on ebay)
* Bought from a no-credit-card-or-PayPal seller (which averages over $10 savings)

It has that smell and I'm back to the thread mainly to review the recommendations for smell removal. 🙂
A quick search seems to say wash the cover only and the rest of the smell will go away in a couple of days. It's sort of a motel linen smell.

Shotokan: the Nobility SmartFoam Pillow looks to me like the same pillow as the Simmons Beautyrest SmartFoam Pillow. In my opinion, the Simmons is one of the worst Foam Pillows. But as always, go check it out and see what you think. 😉

Renob: is that Carepanion Smart Foam Pillow made by Homedics? I'm just wondering because the picture they show is the exact same one from the Homedics box. Also, the dimensions are the same. If it is, Linens N Things sells it for $29.99 on their website: Homedics Pillow. The weird thing is I saw this pillow marked down to $19.99 in their store. The sign said "Simmons Smart Foam Pillows: Now $19.99" but only the Homedics were marked down. I wonder if they made a mistake?

HepDude: good deal on the pillow. The only thing that puzzles me is I have never seen a Tempur-Pedic Pillow with the TerryCloth Cover Sewn on. They usually always have a zipper! Now, the netting that covers the actual foam is sewn on, but as I said there should be a zipper on the cloth. Does it look like the zipper was removed and then it was sewn together? I'm curious to know because something may be funny with this pillow. It's possible that it may be an older one. I don't know if maybe they used to not have zippers.

I got a classic from Ebay for 29.99 + 8 shipping. The auction says "authentic tempur-pedic" and the seller sells a bunch of them at a time, all lined up together and ending close to each other when you search, so it's fairly easy to get a bargain there.

The cover is zippered and has "Tempur" sorta embroidered a couple of times and has the "this tag is not to be removed" tag, take off the cover and there is like a "cheesecloth" cover inside. And the word "Tempur" can be seen indented in the foam, so the auction label of "authentic" looks to be accurate.

I thought I'd chime in...

I bought a "Perfect Pillow" from LNT and a Tempur from eBay.

Both me and my significant other enjoy the perfect pillow much more.

The perfect pillow has a "softer" feel compared to the Tempur...I got a Queen 4 1/2" Tempur.

Anyways, if like firm support go for the Tempur, if you like softer, go for the PP from LNT. The PP is just more versatile feels good on my side, on my back or stomach...

my $.02 🙂 now I need to figure how to sell my Tempur and get another PP.

Noticed that my local Costco is now selling the Novaform memory foam mattress pad for $149. I only saw the King size at that price and didn't have much time to take a closer look far as thickness goes, the box did seem kinda small for a king size pad. No info on the Costco web site yet....

update: Seems like this pad is 2" thick

No, I have the cover with the zipper and what you call "the netting" as well - my sentence was evidently somewhat ambiguous.

The reason I thought that the netting was not ususally there is because I thought I had read that people saw "Tempur" stamped into the foam, and it seems to me that the netting prevents one from seeing that.

All of these Tempur-pedic pillows being sold by several different sellers, all in Arkansas, makes me think that these guys work at a Tempur-pedic distributor that is in Arkansas, and either they, ahem, "liberate" stock or else they are allowed to buy product at cost "for their own use", which they promptly turn around and sell - perhaps the management is unaware of ebay and doesn't think it likely that someone in Arkansas could be commercially selling any quantity.

Just speculation.
