I played for the first time in forever and I actually won two games, people on my team talked to each other, and nobody flamed.

Is this really Dota?

It means you're at the level where players want to win a game and try to communicate. One player only being able to play carry heroes are diminishing once you reach higher.
TI3 changed the way a lot of players are playing now, with the occasional idiot who can only play a specific type of hero with the same exact builds over and over again.

Facepalm moment of the night; so I'm playing all random, get laned against a single ursa bear, I get Slark.

Gank the bear twice, start snowballing, we win, my final score is 15-5-20. Opponents immediately start bitching and moaning about Slark being overpowered. 🙄

Had they played the bear right and had some teamwork they would have won; I love it when people blame the character you get instead of the teamwork / player.

Absolutely amazing Dota 2 comic by a Korean artist. Haven't seen quality at this level for some time:

I'm Korean myself and I'm not a fan of Korean casting.

They just yell loudly and hype shit up by repeating 4-5 words repeatedly (Blackhole! Blackhole! BLACKHOLE!), just like Tobi.

I'm a HUGE fan of Luminous and LD, you can't get better than that. They actually provide expert-level forecasting which ends up coming true. I'm pretty into Dota, but I'm still amazed by how they make laning calls during the draft & make perfect predictions.

Winter is a very good color commentator as well since he's a pro player himself (MUFC). Merlini is good, but don't cast often- just streams self games. Synderen is pretty damn good and co-casting with Tobi turns them into an excellent duo. Tobi is usually pretty awful (even lacks basic mechanics) alone or with other co-casters.

Finally got my Lina Fiery Soul all from card money woohoo /happy dance

I still have $30 left in my steam account; if I sell $5 worth of crap I could afford it. I should probably dump some cards as I have a bunch of extras.

WTF Juddogg???

I played my 1st time Slark last night, and it was awful! When I pressed pounce and clicked on an enemy hero, he jumps in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION. Did that a few times. This guy is trash!

Slark is not the hero for me.

You have to click and then pounce.

You know that the pounce goes in the direction you're currently facing, right? If you jump the wrong way cause you're facing the wrong way, it's not the hero's fault.

I've recently spent well over 125 dollars on cosmetic items. FML.

Like, I'm literally addicted to the whole "ermahgerd, I can't wait to buy a key and open a chest just for the 5 seconds of anticipation/excitement when opening a chest" moment. I think I'm addicted.

Has anyone experienced the following problem with Dota 2 in recent patches?:

Basically, when you load any item layout (say the shop after first loading a match), for a first split-second, all the items are very pixelated, and it takes a brief moment for them to "render" into full resolution. It is only like this the first time you load either page/tab of a shop.

I've noticed a similar thing happens in the Armory when you first load it up.

Additionally: I find that the ad/feature pane look like a jumbled mess of static for a brief moment before the image actually loads up (i.e. for a brief moment after you hit "Find Match", that ad screen that pops up is a mess).

I'm just hoping it's the game and not my system/GPU...

The only thing new in Dota 2 is graphics.

wtf?

Matchmaking alone is leaps beyond.

Tournament support

A complete replay system with recorded commentator voice & all player mouse movements

Revamped spectator system with live graphs & various scores

Yup. I'm GLAD to see this implemented when I spectate.

Basically the pixellation allows the game to operate smoothly without stuttering. Before if you opened up a shop/graphs/charts at the very start of game, there would be micro 0.1 sec delay (complete with sound stalling too) due to so many things loading at once. (And I have a pretty damn fast PC)

Now it loads a 'premature' pixelated version first so the game doesn't have that hiccup. This is also evident in hero portraits and everything.

Very well done by Valve.
