Hi there,
Yesterday i recieved these parts for an upgrade for myself.
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz 1333FSB Socket 775 4MB Cache
OCZ 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 CL 4-4-4-15 PLATINUM XTC
Asus P5N-E SLI 650i Socket 775
Leadtek PX8800GTS 320MB DVI PCI-E
I've built hundreds of systems so was not worried, but we always dread the beeps etc and non-boot nightmares that usually don't happen.
Well, To cut a long story short, it would not boot.
The motherboard manual was useless as it didn't state the codes for the beeps you get when it won't boot so I was disconnecting things til I found the issue. It turns out one of the OCZ sticks causes it not to boot. I literally try one and it doesn't work, do a straight swap for the other one and it works. I guess this means i have a faulty RAM module, yes?
I was about to RMA it when I bumped into this forum and this thread. I can't read it all but I see a lot of mention of different voltages. i have everything at stock voltages.
Basically at the moment I want to know if you guys think that one of the RAm modules is faulty or if I should try upping the voltage on them to try and get them both working? It's a pain RMA'ing the modules as my PC will be out of action for the time it takes them to send me some new ones
Thx for any help!!!!
