Yea, your times are to slow. Download the super pi I have linked on this page and see what you get. Try 425, 424, 423 and see what your time are. You went off the edge.

finally into the 16's :)

16.953 500x7 3.5ghz mem 1000mhz 5-6-6-21 2t all voltage for mem and all other timings default. mem bandwidth 8525 integer, 8398 floating going to lower to 5-5-5-15 and see.

1.515Vcore (1.376 under load)
1.563NB

I just wanted to say what a great job you did. A lot of people would have quit after a hard take down like you had. Your detailed information is going to be a good starting point for people new to overclocking and just starting with this board. I think he deserves a big thumbs up folks  . Now with that said, you can have the rest of the week off. Whata say we go get a couple of Asus Commandos and see what they can do.

Thanks :) I can't take all the credit though, I had a lot of help. As for that Commando what are those running now? If it's more than this board I think I'll just hold pat. I like the idea of getting a complete faster than x6800 pc for less than the chip costs :) I'll have a detailed spreadsheet up in a bit just to put up some numbers.

Commando hasn't hit the street yet. I figure it to be at least twice the price this one was and who knows how much they'll mark it up. Do a google for and read it's spec's. Are you back at 500?

yeah I'm currently 500x7 with memory synched to 1000mhz. 5-5-5-12 2T auto volt
This SuperTalent mem seems to be a good deal. Do you know if this board adjust mem voltage as you increase the mem frequency? I still have to get that speed fan to work. Re-reading your posts to get it to work.

Speedfan working, thank you for the detailed instructions. VDIMM at 1.8V :) This mem and board are amazing.

Still odd why this thing goes into a reboot loop if I up the vdimm. rated spec is 2.2v and thats at 800mhz.

You must be fling at 1:1. You are the first I've seen to do it. I would mark those babies as class A. Must of gone through some good bining process. I'll have to check to see whats chips they could be. I would think it's auto adjusting your voltage unless you are on max. I can't reproduce that memory change at 424. I booted up at 425 and had a 17.53 Pi and clockgen down to 423 and had a 17.37pi I figured I'd bypass 422 and come up behind it at 418 and was running Pi when I froze. All Pi's where at 5-4-4-15 so I'll have to try 4-4-4-12 again. I have had my ram as tight as 3-4-3-9 2T 2.2v @ 800 but I hate popping out that battery when things go wrong

I don't think that voltage is correct. I check my other two and computers they say 1.8v too. so don't rely on speedfan for that. I don't think there is a senor for it or nTunes and probe would report it. You have to spend another 300,00 for the striker to get that info.

i hear yah, i was certainly stressing when i had to do it. speedfan says the voltage is 1.8 (guess its time to see how accurate that really is. gonna drop back down to 800mhz with default everything and see what it says) extreme systems guys seem to be having luck running the core higher. (462x8) mem bandwidth still seems to have very little to do with 1M superpi. I dont think any of that ends up running on system ram. with 2meg L2 cache i think it just runs on the cpu.

i think my mem is micron d9. or at least it used to be.

Commando isnt out yet, it'll prob surface in a week or two, it will most definitely cost about $100 more than the P5N-E SLI, no board in the Asus ROG camp sells for less than $200. the striker extreme we sold out in 2 days at $410. look for the commando to be around $250, and that price would be a lot higher at first launch.

update speedfan reads vdimm at 1.8v

even at stick all settings set to auto. i believe it is accurate. going to change it to 2.2 in bios and see if it changes in speedfan.

one odd thing to note. had everything set to auto. 2.13ghz, 1066fsb 266x7 800mem all stock timings and all auto volts.

idling cpu-z reads 1.213 vcore at idle
full load cpu-z reads 1.424 (orthos small fft) which is basically where i have manually set it in bios to run at 3.5ghz!!!!

Apparently Intel is not concerned about supplying 1.525 in bios. (since thats where this board auto's to under load)

Here's somthing you might want to read Super Talent T800UX2GC4 D9GMH if those are yours. BTW what I have read D9 is Microns fBGA codes not the chip.

i wish those were mine. :) those are the T800UX1GC4 ones (very impressive to say the least)

mine are the T800UX2GC4 (basically the same thing but 2gigs instead of 1) hopefully still micron D9XXX chips though

manually set vdimm to 2.259 in bios. speedfan still reads as 1.8 :-( hmmmm... not sure if it is a speedfan problem or if my board really isn't pumping up the vdimm

i think it's a speedfan problem, i was getting 1.8v as well in sf when i had my mem set at 2.178v

according to the link I IM'd ya i dont even think mine uses D9 chips at all.

got my best super pi yet with cpu at 3.7ghz 462x5 450x8 seems to be another memory hole as i was unable to stabilize at 3.6 but 3.7 is fine???

it's out in Europe & it's slightly dearer than a P5WH or about 15% more than a P5B Deluxe.
edit: about 2x what I paid for my P5N-E SLI

Yeah I read the prelim reviews and this board seemed to have the best tweakability in a low price. I can't see myself getting better results with something else.

I know some people here have it. I think maybe John does (core2) from what i've heard the beta isn't much better than the 0202 bios. which on is on yours?

The beta BIOS seems to be something to avoid, the levels that have been floating around seem to be quite unstable. I haven't seen the infamous 0304 that, magically, ran great and stable for HardOCP, for instance. 0307/0308 have been reported to be bad news.

As Don has said, stay away from the beta's I haven't heard of any that good yet

Chipset Fan
I put just one of these fans on today Scythe SY124010L Fans
and it lower my temps another 12f. NB now at a cool 95.4f from 120f when I first started. SB 81.1f with the Zalman heat sink on. If someone has the temps of the SB with no heatsink on post it

I see you have Tat core temps in your sig. Does Tat work on this chipset? Check your PM
