Yep.

The DNC couldn't read the tea leaves then, just like many can't read them now.
I knew Hillary had problems when nearly all of my female members of the family came out as never Hillary. That was a surprise. I thought THE GIRL THING would convince them to go Hillary, but not was the case. They looked upon Hillary as that old bitchy school teacher who all the girls hated. They never cared if Hillary was female, to them Hillary was a monster. A demon. Certainly someone you would never vote for.
Yeah, the DNC greatly over-blown the Hillary Clinton thing. They actually believed people loved Hillary.
I was shocked. I still am.

RFK Jr. says COVID was 'ethnically targeted' to spare Jews...

Did Nazi that coming.....
How is he not wearing a MAGA hat?

What differences could there possibly be at this point?

Holy shit!! that was painful to watch! This dude’s one of the biggest cranks/grifter "politicians" I've seen other than Trump.

So we have:

Wi-Fi causes cancer and “leaky brain”
Antidepressants are to blame for school shootings
AIDS didn't come from the HIV virus
Chemicals in the water supply could turn children transgender
COVID was “ethnically targeted” to spare Chinese and Jews.

This kind of bullshit is toxic to our society.

RFK jr. - “We don’t know whether it was deliberately targeted or not but there are papers out there that show the racial or ethnic differential and impact,”

WE DON’T KNOW?! - BUT THE "PAPERS" ARE OUT THERE!! Ok ... I'm sold - I also read “spare Jews” as “space Jews”; the ones manning the LASERS! They use tiny versions of the laser to zap the pesky COVID bugs out of their bodies!

It's apparent that this MAGA jr thinks the political, cultural and media dynamics of conspiracy can propel him to the White House. Other responsible media and critical thinking people need to write this nutjob off now. He is already suing the Biden administration and media outlets including The Associated Press, The Washington Post, the BBC and Reuters for "alleged" censorship.

That rumbling noise everyone hears is RFK turning over in his grave.

She had 35 years of endless Republican inuendo propaganda used against her. That was enough for me to know having her run for president wasn't going to work. But, the old guard DNC, not some stupid conspiracy, wouldn't have it.

Women are their own worst enemies. They’ll believe the lies told about other women before they give them the benefit of doubt.

Many years ago I recall reading an account of the travails of one of the Kennedy clan (maybe this one, might have been another one) in which the journalist argued that you should "never trust anyone who lives in a 'compound'".

I think it's much more complicated than that. It's that "intersectionality" thing again - the way sex/gender interacts with race and class.

The only way for a woman to become a serious contender for the Presidency, is if they become a super high-achiever, i.e. devote themselves to a kind of very instrumental careerism. But in doing that they become by definition not 'one of us', not someone an ordinary lower-class woman can identify with, even by definition turn into someone they see as an enemy.

In that respect women candidates are caught in a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don't trap, that doesn't seem to arise for male candidates, who can manage to be perceived as both competent _and_ "ordinary" at the same time.

The hostility to Clinton (which also seemed to come up with Elizabeth Warren) among women voters seemed to have everything to do with class.

It seems a peculiarly American situation. Other countries/cultures seem to have archetypes for women that make it possible to get round that dilemma (e.g. Thatcher's "ordinary housewife better at managing a budget than the feckless men" act, or the numerous female leaders of the far-right in parts of Continental Europe, who seem to pull off a very complex balancing act between 'traditional femininity' and 'strong leader')

The US has a very distinctive form of sexism/patriarchy. It's not that other countries don't have their own just as severe issues with it, but it just seems to take a very different form in the US - most of all because of how it interacts with class and race, and how unusually performative masculinity is in that culture.

To be fair, she was probably one of the most qualified candidates in the history of our country. Reasonable private experience, FL of AR for 8 yrs, a very "involved" FLOTUS for 8 yrs, US Senator for 8 yrs, SoS for 4 yrs. That's a pretty deep resume that few can match.

“She was a bitch”, is about the only thing people could say about her and by all accounts even that was bs.

Yep. Every conspiracy theory about her was utter bullshit. I'm sure she was not a perfect angel, but NONE of the claims held any water and most were just batshit insane.

Dude you're totally leaving out that someone's brother's friend's nephew 8 times removed 9th cousin died of a "heart attack" at the age of 97 because the Clintons were running drugs for the Columbians and the New World Order using black helicopters.

For the record my own grandfather completely fell down this kind of horseshit rabbit hole. I feel like the 90s were in the Right's willingness to accept and buy into completely bat shit conspiracy theories really took off. AKA the rise of Limbaugh.

- All the paranoia cultivated by the Red Scare had to go somewhere with the fall if the Soviet Union, and unfortunately it turned inward.

On the topic of RFK,.doing a cursory review of his Wiki, the dude looks like he would have been a fine environmental lawyer but like a lot of the hippy environmental boomers a combination of innately conspiratorial thinking (sometimes reinforced by reality) and some tragic life shit has fucked his brain sideways with COVID just being too much.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has received considerable support from Republican donors during the first months of his 2024 campaign -- and Eric Clapton ...

Any surprise about KKKlapton?

Much as I can't stand the guy, despite his affiliation I see him only really attracting nutjobs away from the magat base. Could work out. People with functioning brains seem to strongly dislike the man, and he doesn't have a cult like Trump. I'm not that concerned about him honestly.

More worried about Joe Manchin and his ongoing campaign to fuck his own party as hard as he does the planet. We're not done hearing that shamelessly corrupt twat preach democratic ideals as the motivation for his self enrichment and subservience to right wing interests.

RFK jr is performing a worthy service for the public--anyone you know that supports this boob, you'll know to gtf away from them. Or give them a kick in the head, whichever is more convenient. Of course, Trump has done the same service for me; those I can't get away from, like coworkers, there is a strict "no political talk" policy in place. Only so much conspiracy and xenophobic hate speech I can tolerate, namely none at all.

Manchin’s favorable rating is lower than Ted Cruz. But a third party candidate will probably hand trump the election.
