I can support Bernie's policies, but supporting him as a politician I find much more difficult, both because he actively targeted the same people that are Turmp zealots (and we've seen why that's troubling) by spouting very similar rhetoric (even if at times he can make more valid claims), and because of the morally better (than Turmpers) but still alarming people like you. I'm not even talking about the Bernie supporters who claimed to not support Turmp but did openly call for just ruining things as much as possible (which makes me doubt that they didn't vote for Turmp) after Bernie lost the primary. There were at least a few on here that were that way. If you want to pretend like those people didn't exist, that's on you. But they were here, very vocal, and there is no defense for their bullshit. It sucks that there still isn't enough support for many of Bernie's policies. That is changing some, but that's through showing with objective evidence and vetting policies (i.e. showing how nationalized health care would save us money, both out of pocket and in taxes for instance), not through fanatical support for Bernie himself.

I would rather we return that favor (as the GOP goes more extreme) than repeat the same mistake.
Cause from my big picture view, the Dems are losing the long game despite having policies that the majority of Americans support. They need to win and win big or the GOP's power to push policy that favors the few will only get worse.

One thing I do admire about diehard progressives is their optimism. Biden is only the 2nd non-Protestant Christian to be elected President in American history (and the 1st one was assasinated), and the conservative base once stayed home and let a black man get re-elected rather than vote for a Mormon from their own party, but hey! the Socialist Jew would have for sure won in landslide!
