If you accidentally click a link and it takes you to a pedo site and you immediately leave, I don't think you'll get in trouble. There would be very little evidence against you. I think law enforcement would be more likely to go after people who are obviously using the site and leaving lots of evidence like saving pictures to their computers or web space, or even making credit card transactions (yes some of them are that stupid).

Under 18 = illegal, as far as pictures go. In the US at least, there's a law called 2257 that requires photographers and videographers to keep records of the birth dates of their models if they appear in sexually provocative photos or videos. Some art photographers claim an exemption because their nude art is not sexual in nature. However, they still tend to get into shit when their subjects are obviously young (even if everything is non-sexual). If someone did (knowingly or unknowingly) take sexual pictures or videos of someone under 18, and didn't have records, they could get in trouble under the 2257 law for failing to keep records, but they could only get in trouble for child pornography if someone could prove that the kids are underage.

We have no way of knowing how the UN defines it, of course. Would they consider you a pedo if you saw a girl on the street you thought was hot and later you learned she was 17? I don't think that's pedo, personally. Pedo is when you're attracted to children, so a pedophile would be specifically looking for child-like features, and would not necessarily be turned on by a 17-year-old who looks basically the same as an 18-year-old adult.

Define "pedo." Is he attracted to children? That's not normal at all. But nothing wrong with being attracted to a hot 15 or 16 year old. Unfortunately this relatively normal attraction tends to get lumped in with attraction to prepubescent children, though.

As has been stated, you are not a pedophile if you are attracted to teenagers who are just under the legal age of consent. HOWEVER, it's very likely that not every pedophile is someone who will go out and molest children, or pursue pornography that depicts children being molested. It's entirely possible that a given person who is sexually attracted to children will also realize that harming children in such a way is morally wrong, and would never act upon it.

Of course, people of low intelligence will always mouth off about how "all pedophiles must be shot" without considering the issue in detail. There is no question that the Phillip Garridos of the world should be removed from society (preferably in some permanent, painful, violent manner, IMO) along with anyone who actually does sexually abuse children.
