A while ago I posted a thread on a "super computer" but found out it wouldn't work that great for gaming. I have learned alot since then and I have new specs in mind. Anyone's advice or suggestions on different parts are welcome. Here are some links to ideas for the platform and cooling system. I will update when I find more parts. I'm also not sure if I Should go with plasma tv's, LCD's, or CRT's for the monitor. (price is not a factor)

I don't know what kind of system the OP is describing because I categorically refuse to click a dozen links just to get your damn system specs.

Why not just tell us!?

That said, 2.0 ms seek time makes it happy in my pants.

I have added the samsung monitor. I was thinking about that PSU too but I hadn't added it yet. rise4310, this is still in the making so everything is disorganized right now.

Striping the two 4GB M-sys results in access times of 62µs and a sustained read speed of 85MB/s. Not terrible fast sustained, but killer access time for IOps. It is big enough for the OS, and most apps. Put the pagefile on the Seagates.

Hell no Opteron's don't slow down games. They have more cache than most of the A64 line, so for the most part, clock for clock, they're better!

No, not at all. Workstation cards don't have gaming features. I have a $2000 video card (Realizm 800) and it blows for gaming.

The liquid nitrogen cooling system's tubes are the right dimentions for the koolance heatsink, but will the LN2 be effective with that heatsink, or is there a better one?

I think I set the record day seven at 195.22 posts per day.. anyways :p

Dude you are insane... but if you want to spend that much money, you should get a 3-9" CRT projector and a stewart filmscreen. Oh, And the sub sucks ass compared to what I could build. But if you have to buy, get the krell reference sub with a 1" think black aluminum chassis 2 15" isobarik subs and a 2600 watt amp.

DDR333 ram at 2T vs the ram I listed... man... I can tell you know more than I.

And if you want the very best surround head unit, get a Denon AVR-5805 or a Lexicon MC-12B and 5 Crown Studio Reference Is. And vapochill wont work without serious modification... its mean to single processor midtowers. And why are you mixing LN with compressor vapor phase?

And how are the twelve NeoDigm setup? For a continous layout you'd need 1, 4, 9, or 16.

It looks like I'll be making alot of changes:laugh:...

EDIT: I'm not mixing LN with phase change, that was my ORIGINAL plan and the reason I started this thread was to make it better.

'Best' would include sleek and thoughtful design... getting the mosts expensive of everything doesn't equate to the best machine. :p

For example, a Opteron 252 with a Dominator Pro 437W TECs would be more than sufficient for any x86 based gaming, and not have continual LN costs. I mean if your going for raw procesing power why not buy the Dawning 4000A with 2,560 Opterons?

Best for what? For water? Dominator pros

for LN? I dunno much about that.. ask here

I configured an Alienware system a couple weeks ago for 37,000$, I'll post the picture when I get home.
