Shamrock has been over for quite some time.
If you knew his record and saw all his fights, you wouldn't be saying that he's in great condition...his is ten years past him prime and hasn't beaten a figher of any signifigance since he submitted Severn in 1995.
His only wins since they are over nodobies...Inagaki (losing record when they met, losing record since then) (Takahashi, perhaps the only significant fighter on the list since he beat Severn), Sam Adkins (who?), Kimo (who is older than Shamrock), Otsaku (why does pride let him fight?)
He's 4-5 and well past his prime...he winded against Fujita and had his corner throw in the towel, Ortiz beat the crap out of him.

Mind you, I have tons of respect for the man, I've trained with Lion's Den fighters and Shamrock was once at the top of his game, but he needs to realize that he is well past his prime and risking injury by continuing to fight.

Did you get that from Rogan's comment? Shamrock was almost going into cardio arrest, his heart rate was going out of control. Don Frye who was in attendance who is certified EMT check him out that night of the fight. He wasn't gassing, his heart rate was out of control. Could be his years from Vitamin S, thats why Tito always making comments to Shamrock to pull the needles out of his butt.

Cardio arrest?

Cardio arrest?

Edit: sorry meant cardiac arrest. I'm the worse speller on ATOT. 😱

yeah, he told Guy Metzger, one of the members of the Lion's Den also that his heart rate was going out of control If you goto the sherdog.com forums and do a search, you'll find it. So his crew threw in the towel. He was out striking Fujita that night pretty bad, can't knock out Iron Head Fujita but he was punishing him pretty bad. They later interview Don Frye and thats what he told everybody in his interview.

Pride FC report that night:
"Shamrock returned at PRIDE10 and faces Kazuyuki Fujita, a powerful freestyle wrestler who held a win over Mark Kerr. In what I consider to be a supreme irony, Ken Shamrock, the man who won more by doing less than anybody in MMA, throws everything he has against the rock-hard noggin of Fujita ? techniques Shamrock had never displayed outside of the protected confines of Pancrase. Powerful punches, quick snapping combinations, even a few high kicks! But Fujita absorbs everything Shamrock threw at him and kept moving forward. Shamrock eventually turns to his corner and begs them to throw in the towel at about 7 minutes into the fight, and they do so. Shamrock, his face drained of color, would briefly lose consciousness in the locker room before returning to his hotel"

Weird, Guy Metzger had to pull out of his fight with Tito Ortiz for the UFC's War of 2004 cause he had mild stroke. Tough break for Lion's Den members.

anyone catch any wind of a griffin/bonnar rematch in the works ?

Sort of. If you go to Sherdog.com they have a post fight interview with Bonnar and he stated that "In our rematch". So I would assume we will definitely see it in the future.

mirko has some wicked kicks and awesome take down defense, but a suspect jaw. but i guess when u r a heavyweight... one punch will do for just about anyone.

Cause he took a shot to the temple from Randleman? Anybody who would of taken shot like that would been KO.

He was a former K-1 fighter, so he has taken hits by guys like Hunt, Bonjasky, Aerts, and still came back to win some.

Those guys from the Spike reality show will look out of place in the UFC. They look like kids. They have a long way to go before they get the required skills to beat the experienced fighters in the UFC. There is now way they can run with the big dogs when they pee like a pup.

Would like to see Randy but I think Chuck will pull it out this time.

Should be a good one though.

Greg

Diego "dirty" Sanchez sounds like a moron but is a pretty good fighter. He's not great I don't think but he's pretty decent. But please don't subject us to any more of his post fight interviews.

If Koscheck ever learns submissions and what to do when he takes a guy down he'll be an animal!! He's only been going in MMA for a little more than a year, he's the future for sure.

Leben is a nutcase but will probably end up in UFC undercards b/c people either really like or really dislike him. Weak ground game, esp on his back, but fun fighter to watch b/c he throws a lot of bombs.

Swick could be a force at 185. Heck in his 205 match he weighed in at 192. He could easily cut to 185. He was taking it to Bonnar pretty hard in their match but Bonnar was too big and caught him in a triangle choke and an arm bar with 2 seconds left in round1.

Forrest and Stephan are awesome. They are genuinely likable people. Forrest is a crazy man, and Stephan just cracks me up b/c he looks a little goofy but is a tough SOB.

In Kenny's defense he's never faught above 171 and typically fights around 165 I believe. For him to jump to a true 185er in Diego was WAY too much. He's got a good attitude and is technical. Dana likes him and I think he'll be back in the welterweight division. And for those saying they'd like to fight him or think he's a pansy, I'd love to see you in the octagon with him, he would destroy you in under a minute.

That Diego guy has serious mental problems. Hearing him talk, it was obvious that he's on a cloud and doesn't have a firm grip of reality. He's not humble or grounded at all, he's out in space.

And did you see him right before the fight? He was all serious making faces and stuff. I think one fight against a good opponent will destroy him.

haha i agree 100% hes a retard

Well I see Chuck won. Knocked him out in 2mins.

I'm not surprised. Chuck made it clear that he would not let Randy dictate this fight and take it to the ground.

BTW I was watching some of the recently released DVDs and saw some stuff with Vitor Belfort in it HOLY SH*T that guy is like lighting. How the hell did Randy manage to survive that guy!?!?!?!

Oh and I saw that cut that Marvin Eastman got, daymmmmm that was ugly!

IF you watch a bunch of Randy's other fights you will see he is really good. IF he gets control of the fight its over. Going into the last round he is usually stronger and has better conditioning. The guy is pretty damn good.

I forgot the fight was on last weekend. I really wanted ot see it. Chuck is just amazing. To fricken bad Tito ducked him all that time. Guess he knew what would happen to him.

Chuck knocked him out in 2 min? not a suprise. Both of them are amazing fighters. wish i would have seen it heh. damn.
