WHAT!!! BONNAR KICKED GRIFFIN's ARSE!!!

Yes. Yes he did.

Forest got worked. I think they gave it to him for a couple reasons. One being he didn't look as fatigued as Bonnar during the fight, he seemed more in control and stable, Bonnar looked gassed. Also, he was manhandling Bonnar physically in the clinch, he was tossing him around like he was a 13 year old. Also, a lot of people wanted Forest to win over Bonnar anyways.

Regardless though I agree, Bonnar worked Forest.

That said, Forest did do a pretty good job of savagely attacking Bonnars hands with his face though.

Kenny shouldn't even have been there. Chris would have put up a much better fight than him. Kenny just got a lucky break with that elbow to Chris's eye. If not for that Chris would have won. Hes not that good of a fighter.

He just hits and runs, he won't go toe to toe like Forrest/Bonnar did with someone. I wanted Bonnar to win because I like his fighting style more. He took a chance with a few nice kicks and if one of them would had put Forrest out that would have been awsome. You rarely see someone taken out with a kick.

So anyone want to explain the asparagus thing?

All of the episodes were broadcast back to back on Saturday, so I guess he saw the episode where Stephan is getting aggravated by Diego eating just the tips off of the asparagus. Very minor, but I thought that Bonnar was going to come unglued and go Hollandaise on his ass.

I thought the Bonnar decision was wrong but they did the right thing and gave them both a contract. It was probably the best fight I have seen Pride, K1 and UFC combined.

Diego deserved a contract too so I am glad he won. He was the best middleweight and has huge potential.

I couldn't stand Diego's post fight interview.

Bonnar and Forrest's comments were genuine and classy. (but don't ask me for a quote on them). 😉

well one was when Bonnar said I thought I had him out but the son of a B!tch wouldnt go down.

That Diego guy has serious mental problems. Hearing him talk, it was obvious that he's on a cloud and doesn't have a firm grip of reality. He's not humble or grounded at all, he's out in space.

And did you see him right before the fight? He was all serious making faces and stuff. I think one fight against a good opponent will destroy him.

By the way, I think they fudge the numbers about their weight and height. They want to make it look like an even match, even when it's really not (There is no way that Diego's opponent was as heavy as him. The guy had no upper body muscle and had skinny legs. When they stood next to each other there was a big size difference)

Seeing Diego fight is a thousand times more impressive than hearing him speak. Compared to most every UFC fighter I've seen, he's barely adequate. I hope I can see him get ripped apart in his first real UFC fight.

The Forrest/Bonnar fight was the single most impressive fight I've ever seen. That was the epitome of good sportsmanship too. They beat the hell out of each other for 15 mins but could still laugh about it afterwards. They just need to work on their stamina and defense and they'll both be fighters to reckon with.

Yeah I thought that was kinda odd they weighed in about the same and same height. But Kenny was much smaller(which hurts him). I think he needs to build up alot before ever attempting to come back. I think I could have put up as good of a fight(if not better) then him and I don't like fighting.

Well Diego will be given a few "easier fights" to begin with in UFC to make him appear more as an animal and thus giving a bigger PPV buy-rate when he fights someone of note. I think once he gets in the ring with an experienced true fighter he will get his ass handed to him. He needs that done at least once so that he can learn a little humility.

Something tells me Diego will not be well liked by the oother UFCers (not at all). On the other hand I bet Forest and Stephan become well liked and are the types of guys who will "hang out" with the other fighters. Diego will always have a chip on his shoulder as if someone "owes him something". Great fighter, bad attitude IMO.

I would have loved to have seen Nate fight because something tells me he could have given Diego a good thumping. Not sure he would win but he looks like he just has that something about him. Shame his ankle got crushed in a freak accident though -- stupid!!

Anyways it was enjoyable. The Season 2 TUF guys better get a clue and come into this thing in shape cause the first several guys dismissed were HORRIBLY out of shape.

I gotta say Mike Swick will be in the UFC some day too as that can freaking throw a punch (same for Leben if he can get his head on straight).

yeah that fight was amazing.

I am happy that both got contracts. They both are tough guys. Not to mentiong seem like nice guys to have around.

I really enjoyed the post-figth interview with them both. It was kind of funny. That is what i like to see. The fighters hugging and congratlating each other. They both said that the other was taugh and that it was a good fight.

I watched the fight thye talked about where forrest broke his arm. He really is a Tough SOB!

any of you guys read kenny's interview at sherdog.com? it's the one they did before the fight... i found it hilarious. he was saying that he was better then diego on the ground (i guess since he's a jiu-jitsu expert), and that he's just as strong as diego. man, where do i sign up for a bout with kenny

Kenny was right about one thing saying Diego thinks hes invincible. I would have like to seen Kenny beat him but I knew it wasn't possible. I would love to see the match where Diego does get beat just to see his reactions. I mainly wanted to see Forest/Bonnar but I was kinda suprised how Bonnar did. I figured he would last a while but I figure Forest would have knocked him out or something.

I to hated to hear Diego talk at the end heck the dude interviewing him had to force him off the mic.

BTW Bonnar kinda reminds me of David Sloan from Kickboxer 2 anyone else? Except Bonnar is a real fighter.

I watched a Pride event yesterday, my cousin had a bunch of DVDs bought for his bday (what a g/f eh?)...saw some Cro Cop action...holy sh*t that guy's going to have the title in no time.

lastly...I'm kinda happy that one of the very very few threads i start is doing well ^_^

Had his title shot against against Nogeria, Cro Cop got arm barred.

He will have his chance against Fedor Emelianenkio the current Pride Heavyweight champion hopefully this June, the man who pummeled Nog.
