Point #1: AMD 760 chipset + AMD Athlon = Intel P3 asswhooping. Read Anand's review. Weep at superiour processor performance.
Point #2: I have a grand total of 5 AMD processor machines. I have NEVER EVER had a single problem with ONE OF THEM. You'd think that after owning 5 Athlon machines (3 of which are running right now, because 2 are upgrade cpus), I'd have a problem.
But I didn't. I have all the "problem components" too. I have a GA-7IX motherboard, pre-superbypass revision, GeForce, 235 watt supply, an overclocked 500@750, and guess what...NO PROBLEMS.
All this stability FUD just shows that you guys have no clue going about building a system. You know what, a P200 MMX has great stability too, I have one of those, and guess what! I never have to install a single freaking driver, because the Windows install recognizes it for the four year old piece of junk that it is.
If you can't handle installing a new driver for new technology, then you deserve to be stuck with the old junk you have. No two ways about it.
System #1: AMD Athlon 700@1030 MHz (Tbird) + Abit KT7RAID
System #2: AMD Athlon 800 (Classic) + Asus K7V-RM
System #3: AMD Athlon 700 (Tbird) + GA-7IX (AMD 750 C3)
Guess what fellas: AMD 760 + 256 MB of DDR2100 memory are on the way. When they're available, I'm picking them up, because thanks to AMD I can afford to upgrade every two months as opposed to the 12 months you intel folks will be waiting. (Did I mention that P4 upgrades are going to put you folks in debtor's prison? It's a good thing you guys upgraded your power supply, LOL)
Oh, did I also mention that I will be able to plug in a Mustang processor to my socket A board when it comes around.
