And the fucking pathetic mainstream media just has headlines like, Trump chides justices, and bullshit takes like that.

Nothing about his ranting and raving and yet more delusional nonsense coming out of his mouth. I mean par for the course they have never covered him correctly since day one. Same as a Democratic party who has never opposed him correctly since day one.

it is weird that trump can bomb the shit out of places and kidnap their leaders and it's somehow barely a problem but a tariff is right out.
Why do you question the separation of powers?
Congress sets the taxes on the American people, not the President.

I noticed some confusion on today's subject. Somehow confusing this with foreign policy or military action.
Let's clear the air with a PROPER headline. The sort a newsroom would not dare print today.

President ignores supreme court to raise taxes on Americans.
President Trump imposes a 10% global tariff under Section 122 and says all existing tariffs will remain in place, despite the recent Supreme Court ruling.

It would be funny if this precipitated a kind of "second american revolution". Once again due to taxes from a "king"

WTF did I just watch? Did he just say his response to this decision will be to RAISE tariffs across the board? Did he just say he’ll renege on all the deals he’s already made with other countries?

If it wasn’t already painfully obvious, we’re in mad king territory. Who’s still onboard with this shit show?
He’s doubling down because his ego can’t take a loss. It’s classic narcissism stemming from never being told “No” in his life. Bullies like him only respond to force, unfortunately.

Still waiting for folks to toss their MAGA hats into the waters off of Miami, Palm Beach, Cape Coral, Panama City etc.—Boston Tea Party style. I think we’ll be waiting a while…

grift grift grift buy up all those tariff duties for pennies.....

All that said, it’s hard to imagine anything more emblematic of the Trump Era than what is for all intents and purposes still the Commerce Secretary’s company (yes, yes, arms length hand off to his twenty-something sons) making bets on something Lutnick himself has significant influence over. Indeed, far more important than whatever influence Lutnick has over tariff policy is that significant visibility he has into the bet’s probable outcome.

Love this take at barchart.com, quoted in part:

Secretary Lutnick to Register 1, Please

After the Supreme Court's rebuke of his trade agenda, President Trump said today he'll move forward with a new 10% global tariff. In a White House press briefing with reporters, he justified the strategy shift by citing the ironclad legal precedent of We have the right to do pretty much what we want to do.

Notably, a Penn Wharton estimate produced for Reuters suggests the U.S. could now be on the hook for about $175 billion in tariff refunds, which is the kind of transaction you generally need a floor manager to authorize.

"Mr. President, from the day you first announced your intent to implement these tariffs, people told you that you didn't have the authority to do so. You did it anyway. Now the Supreme Court, including Justices you appointed, have told you in no uncertain terms that you never had this authority and that you were and are wrong. Will you own up to your error and work to make whole the people harmed by your illegal conduct?"

That should do it.
Well, it should, but Donald won't listen without rude interruptions to something like that. But the press has a job and if it's holding the POTUS' feet to the fire, that's my idea of heroism.

I read this, he thinks the planet revolves around his ass. Strange...
His mental illness has him destroying even his own voters and loyalists, and they just keep asking for more.
You'd think the world was your oyster too if those morons kept asking for more.
Even Biden failed to put Trump in his place. Man has never known justice his whole life.

Would have been better if Democrat governors could and would coordinate and send a united message like this.
We need more.

What would be best is if they would all coordinate filing lawsuits demanding return of the money in the next 10 days in all Federal circuits. The states would likely only be able to sue to cover losses to the states in terms of tax revenues, though.

The average citizen will likely have to file Federal class action lawsuits. Which, no doubt, will make the plaintiff lawyers obscenely filthy rich and result in the class members getting $10 checks or something similar.

It will be amusing to watch how all the MAGAts that were thrown under the bus with the tariffs react when El-Presidente Pedo Princess doesn't just give them their money back and makes them sue to get it.
