If China says: ENOUGH and put rare earths export quotas, the circus would end into a massive crash.
And there is a way to get out, but requires to take all the e waste they sent for years to reuse the materials and that is costly.

I bought a 4tb m.2 last month, I checked last night to maybe get a 2nd. It had gone up to $670, I paid $235. I can't even imagine paying $670 for it, add a 100% tariff on top of that? Sheeeeeee-it. And I don't see this bullying working, anyone who needs an m.2 is already screwed pre tariffis, with the tariff. I would go back to a slow-ass spinning drive if I were building a new PC and needed storage lol.

I say go for it. I’m sure the Midwest would love the increased energy costs to heat their homes. Not like it’s cold right now. Planting season is coming up. Farmers must really like this idea. Sure there’s a replacement for potash which will yield as well…. Let’s face it oil will immediately be excepted because, well, the country would mutiny with prices doubling.
