Putin says 'the whole of Ukraine is ours'

06/20/2025

Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested during an economic forum that the "whole of Ukraine" belongs to his country, even though Russia only controls about a fifth of Ukrainian territory.

This tells me they dont recognize Ukraine's independence.
Did you just figure that out? All on your own?

I said Putin does not recognize Ukraine as independent but a breakaway province. Someone said otherwise. I have effectively dispelled that notion.

Most Russians see Ukraine as part of Russia because historically it was.
Not really - Russia has a long history of recognizing Ukraine's sovereignty even when it was part of the Soviet Union. A simple statement by Putin (who lies about literally everything) does nothing.

Remember, when Putin says something his words convey literally zero information, it's the same as Trump. You can ignore everything they say and lose nothing.

Yea ok, you mighty highly of this information “dispelled” for us

As someone who lives with a septic tank I take offence to you insinuating they serve no purpose or have no value...

A better comparison would be a cesspool system. Outdated and inefficient, contaminates the area around it, and is illegal in most parts of the United States.

I was assuming the OP was referring to the rhyming slang. Is that not correct? Are they not saying that they live with an American?

The term "septic tank", or more usually "septic", is used in some parts of Britain as a slang term to refer to Americans, from Cockney rhyming slang septic tank equalling yank. This is sometimes further shortened to "seppo" by Australians .

Of course, it now occurs to me that "cess pit" could also be rhyming slang, so perhaps I'm missing the subtext to this exchange...

Ah, I assumed they had a septic tank in their home for wastewater disposal. A proper functioning one is quite useful.

I very much meant an actual septic tank, as Trump is full of shit and it leaches out around him.

Slowly but steady the rest of the world looks for ways to work around US.

Ford has had to idle factories due to magnet shortages from China. A problem Trump said he solved.

Ford Motor Co. temporarily idled factories in the US over the last three weeks due to a shortage of magnets containing rare earth minerals, key components embroiled in US trade tensions with China.

Chief Executive Officer Jim Farley said the situation demonstrates the need to develop a domestic supply chain for critical auto components. China has instituted a new approval process for exports of rare earths that has slowed supply lines

“We cannot get any high powered magnets without China,” Farley said Friday at the Aspen Ideas Festival. “We shut down plants for the last three weeks because we cannot get high powered magnets.”

Farley said those magnets are critical to seats, windshield wipers, doors and audio systems. “We can’t make that stuff,” he said of the magnets.
