Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof in both offerings are excellent IMO. JD 10 and 12 year also good but harder to find. Never got a taste for Dickel really but it's polarizing.

My go to:

Mary Dowling toasted double oak barrel strength bourbon whiskey

Honorable mention and half the price:

Mary Dowling Tequila barrel finished bourbon whiskey

The reprieve on export licenses for Chinese rare earth materials is only good for six months.

Odds are the Chinese will extract more concessions from Trump on a regular basis.

One has to wonder.. 55% tariff on our most used importer..

Won't that raise inflation?

And how will interest rates come down then?

Or the plan is to cause inflation and low interest rates which causes the dollar to fall like a rock??

They want a lot of money for 4 year old juice IMO. I like Larceny Barrel Proof or Makers Mark Selects for half the price with a few more years age on it.

I don't like the bitterness of Rye.. I tried a few bourbons that had high rye - Four Roses for example and had difficulty even finishing the bottle.

But I like low rye ones.

I haven't tried Makers Mark.. how is that? bitter or sweet?

If you like sweeter bourbons then MM should be up your alley since it is wheated.

Doesn't a 55% tariffs on China just mean the products will be send to a 3rd country before being shipped to the US for a flat 10% tariff?

Tried Makers Mark Selects ... It's just a little too sweet for my tastes. Didn't sit well in my gut.. Never tried Larceny Barrel. Will give it a shot 👍

My grandfather turned my on to Mary Dowling. It's so smooth for my tastes and palate.

That awkward scenario where you are unsure of whether to root for tariffs to continue to be an anchor (somewhat ) on his approval ratings or cheer for tariffs to be peeled back, economy roars back to life and all is forgiven by the electorate.

I think it is safe to say that this scenario is really not likely at all. He can't go more than a few days without getting the itch.

Not a great visual image for Starmer - scrambling around on the floor to pick up the trade-agreement papers after Trump drops them. Then Trump declares it to be a deal 'with the EU', forgetting what country Starmer's from. And all to get the gratuitous tariffs "reduced" to 10%. It's like when the supermarket puts up the prices of something by 25% then reduces it to only 10% more than it was before last week and declares it a 'special offer'.

Also, make your products more expensive on the export market.

@K1052

So this is how you get Trump to STFU and leave..

Yesterday:

Today:

Basically you have to push the press away since he loves press attention and he turns into "I'm taking my ball and going home"

Well done PM Carney.. I think it'll be copied by others sure enough!

More Trump nonsense. Having Russia in G8 would not have stopped the invasion. They were kicked out in 2014, for taking over Crimea. So obviously being in the G8 didn't stop the expansion into Ukraine...

The real US precipitating action goes back to USA backing NATO admission for Georgia and Ukraine, which Russian freaked out about, and subsequently invaded both countries...

Yea, I really am not buying it. Putin has shrugged at Finland joining NATO. The Baltics and Poland have been in for decades now.

Russian imperial expansion never really dies. It just goes into hibernation periodically.
