Russia isnt even in the same ballpark as China, my dude. Their broken down cold war era equipment billowing black smoke is pretty damned sad. Do you remember the opening ceremony for the 2008 Olympics in Bejing? No other ceremony has come even close to that before or since, and for good reason: their seriousness about education and hard work and the way they work together and for the country is incredible. Its quite clear that the only thing the US will have over China in very short order is that we are/were a democracy and they are communists.
Never in History a country has remotely approached 1 bn tons of steel per year, not even the whole world combined, with just 10% of their annual production they could build 1000 aircraft carriers of Nimitz class each year, they are on another level not only compared to Russia but also to the US and the EU.

What is even more impressive is that they managed to educate their people as to reach a first rate average IQ, that s quite achievable for a population the size of Taiwan but for such a formidably populated country it s almost a miracle, this being said Russia also has some merit because roughly 50% have an university grade, and she produce way more scientists and enginers/year than the US despite half the population.

That's the big difference between us and them.. the parents invest time in their children and for that they want their children to succeed and take care of them when older. So they get a head start and try teaching kids math, science, arts at 2 years old.

They value education and see it as their lottery to making money.. not excelling in sports!

As you point it its a given that being an enginer is generaly not profitable, not only in the US but more generaly in the western world, it pay much more to do whatever business or speculate in the real estate market.

Beside knowledge and intelligence mean nothing compared to being mediocre but born in a very wealthy family, and in this respect the orange fascist and his buddies are a perfect demonstration of this state of things.

Don't worry, the Russian farmers with their subpar products will take the market for the US in the foreseeable future.
Those small family farms will fold...and get bought up for pennies on the dollar by large agri-corps...just the way it's supposed to happen.

So now the orange stain has wrecked the dollar and is warning other countries not to abandon it. Yeah, that will work! Just like WIN - Whip Inflation Now.

Even the white cis patriotic male murrican they "should" protect they want to go die in a coal mine.

To think Clinton got roasted for her clean energy plan, which included job training for displaced miners to work in building and maintaining renewables. How dare she want to replace their dirty declining jobs with clean, safe, growing jobs!

I have to say that the admin's dedication to raising grocery prices is really impressive.

I have 9 tomato plants in the backyard, average height over 18 inches, many blossoms, spotted my 1st tomato yesterday, about the size of a small pea.
And I thought it was bad last summer when I was growing tomatoes only to have someone steal them overnight.

Only peppers from now on!
I haven't had good luck growing peppers but figure to try again this year. I think maybe the potted plants I've been buying at Home Depot were root bound. Peppers evidently don't like that, unlike tomato plants. So, I figure to pick up one or two plants from a quality nursery. It's not warm enough here yet for peppers to do much.

China dramatically cutting their imports of US crude and turning to Canada. This makes a lot of sense for both of those countries. Canada needs to diversify away from the US, who is no longer an ally but a hostile neighbour, and China needs to do the same, from an already hostile superpower, which just went crazy with a clown king.
