Are you going to be using the SSD as a cache?

Build looks good though, except the 5770. That's a weak-arse card for such a nice setup. Grab yourself a Radeon 6870. They're cheap and much, much faster than the 5770.

Sure there's a place to mount the fan/radiator of that ~inferior~ cooler?

Apart from that, & needs of hdd/gpu, it looks fine. CPU is overpowered... but whatever floats your boat ;-)

All I have to do is remove the hdd bay from the core 1000 and I'll be able to put it p/p :D

Also my monitor isn't even 1080p so no need for a 6870

Edit:ivy bridge i3 comes out, I might go with that. I'm not sure.

the i3 2105 is simulated as the ivy bridge i3

Also if my friend gets a new CPU I can buy his i3 for like 70 bucks.

Personally -if it fits in the budget- I would get the quad core IB. Admittedly a good dual would handle almost everything you throw at it, but I'm hoping dev's will pull their finger out & make nicely threaded games/programs. Plus I would feel less manly with a dual :p

You'd have a sweet system only held back by GPU (5770?), & in a while with new cards/price drops, you can hopefully scrounge some $coin to upgrade the graphics.

I might just drop the ssd. Don't really need it

mine is c12, think that's what I linked?.. 114mm

Oh. I looked at the right product's specs but misread the dimensions :<. That is a nice cooler, certainly worth considering

@T_yamamoto if you dropped the SSD, the CPU cooler and went with a non OC mobo/cpu combo, you could probably afford a 7850 2GB. It's all about how you want to prioritize it

I'm using a 60G agility3 right now. Good small random reads so I find it an awesome OS drive. I might be giving mixed msgs... but it's always a balance in $. In everyday life you'll notice a SSD more than SB/IB difference.

Edit: lehtv's advice is good too. Heheh totally not helping you decide. It's your build buddy

I'll add an ssd into my build if I come across more money

Edit: buying my friends i3 for 70 buck

This is 618 dollars

The Pentium of whatever is a place holder for i3. The fans are place holders for yateloons.
Edit: my friend might actually not upgrade so I can still get an i5 for like 170

PC Power and Cooling is better than ModXStream by far. Why aren't you sticking with that...? Also if you're going to get an i3, the Corsair H70 is a HUGE waste of cash. It'd make more sense to spend that on a 128GB SSD or not spend it at all. If you're going to go with unlocked i5, Antec Kuhler is still a better deal. I'd run it with the stock fan first and see how it does, and only buy the yate loons if the performance disappoints

Your "friend" find those parts on the back of a truck? :p

Edit: Then again, I acquire "things", that I don't use, and try to sell 6-12 months later, and nobody buys them, because I don't want to lose money.

Anyone want a BNIB Q6600 for $110? Thought not. Darn thing cost me $210.

His brother bought parts but ups broke the motherboard. They didn't sue ups. Couldn't rma because according to new egg it was a human error. :p

Nah. I've been gaming using the igpu from a 90nm Pentium so I'll notice a big different with hd3000. I'm also not even on 1080p

Still...HD3000 kinda sucks...why get a 2500K but then use a crappy IGP? :p

Also, that's why I don't buy from Newegg. Amazon would've replaced the mobo, no problem.

HD 3000 can run tf2 and CSS so I'm fine.

My brother has a i5 lappy and it rubs fine.
