Also, it tended to be more fatal. Like lawn dart.

I had to look this up because I really wasn't sure.

Over a 10-year period, 6,700 people in the U.S. were treated in hospital for injuries from lawn darts. 75 per cent of those were children. Three of the children died. CPSC research showed that a lawn dart thrown a short distance lands with a force of 23,000 pounds per square inch.Dec 21, 2012

We had lawn darts at one point, but one thing we'd do is shoot arrows straight up..then run...oh kids..

I jumped off a second floor patio. Granted it was a shorter house, but still...

Some people have been using this as proof that kids are stupider than ever.

Nah... we did equally dumb stuff as kids, but we didnt have YouTube to share it with everyone :)

No, I never ate laundry products and I bet you didn't either. It's amazing how much energy this generation puts into doing nothing and then when they finally do something it's this dumb.

Kids of all era always did stupid things.

Because same dumbasses in this era are now able to put themselves on a spotlight, people think generations are getting dumber.

Just like people think our country is more dangerous because they hear about violence more when it's safer now than it has been in decades. We just have access to more news all the time.

No, but I do vaguely remember a friend and I trying to smash an old TV into pieces with a baseball bat without any eye or electrical protection. That wasn't exactly bright.

I think the next challenge should be the Finish dishwasher tablet challenge.

I always found those things kinda do look tasty.

But yeah some kids these days arn't the brightest. Sure kids before did stupid things too but it's probably worse now with the internet as they see stuff and then want to try it too.

Okay. That's dumb. Did you intended to eat the TV when done? Wouldn't that be a different level of dumb?

It wasn't enough for mom to stick the bar of soap in my mouth, she had to drag it on my teeth to make sure it stayed with me.
When my eldest sons were young, my wife had threatened them with washing their mouths out with soap if they used bad language (probably the word "stupid") any more. When they did, she followed through by putting her soapy finger into their mouths. My elder son started crying and screaming and overreacting like he always did so she marched him into his room to calm down. My middle son just kinda looked at her...when she returned, he defiantly picked up the bar of soap, put it into his mouth, chomped off a chunk, and began chewing it. At that point we knew that was a punishment we could no longer use. He always was one step ahead of us.

When I was a teenager, I swore up and down that I would always be privy to what was popular with kids/teens.

I'm at a complete loss, and refuse to understand WTF this is all about. I'm sorry, 14 year old JM Aggie08, I've let you down.

No, if he was one step ahead of you he would have cried and screamed about it so that you would view it as a serious punishment without knowing he didn't mind it. All he did was point you towards a more effective punishment.

So, I don't nkow whats is IN these today, and this is just beyond stupid to do it for no reason...but would this be any worse than our mothers making us eat a bar of soap back in the old old days? They aren't 'eating' them...just chewing them and spitting them out.

I got my mouth washed out with soap when I was 3 for teaching my 2 year old friend how to say mother-fucker. Still remember that taste...

My Dad was a contractor and dropped more F bombs than George Carlin, so i wonder where I learned it from? I guess it was less the fact that I used the word, and more that fact that I was defiling some other poor innocent child.
