Ferocious: Your head is where you can visually inspect your own colon. Pull it out and listen up...

The NATIONAL scores ARE UP! What this new BS paper was complaining was that because the increase in national scores wasn't as high as the stae scores, he jumped to the politically slanted conclusion that there was no "Texas Miracle". (An odd choice of language for an academic paper, but logical for a hack piece.)

Also, you can't just wave away FACTS because you don't like the source. I had to deal with this crap at AGN and here we go again. If Rush Limbaugh were to broadcast, "There was a beautiful sunrise in the East today." and someone quoted it, you'd say, "That's a right-wing source. It has no validity." EEHHHNNNNNN!!!!! WRONG ANSWER, DIPWEED!!!

You have nothing a value to contribute because all you're spouting is leftist dogma. You have no facts, just your hate, so go intercourse yourself and let the FACTS speak for themselves?

Dirk - You're so busy being Jr Bush's woman, you can't even lie well.

From the MSNBC article: "Rand President James Thomson said timing of the paper?s release was based only on completion of peer reviews and revision."

Oops, those darn facts again!

Every time you type you just add to your mountain of lies, foolish drivel and blatant ignorance of facts. However, I get a kick out of laughing at your lunacy and devotion to your whore.

Hmmmm....I prolly overstated his position as being "solidly" behind Dubya. He said, "Well, you changed my vote." (He was leaning toward Gore because of what he thought Gore stood for on the environment.)

Dirk, did you just graduate from a Texas school? lol.

Try slowly and with perhaps the aid of a dictionary (or pictionary?) reading the very first paragraph again.

The paper was NOT peer reviewed according to former Secretary of Education William Bennett.

Gore says he's for tax cuts and smaller government and even his dirty-kneed supporters (like you) know that's a lie, so your point is what?

Once again, a pearl from the Dirk-bag full of hearsay, but not a speck of proof. I'm sure Jr will give you another thrust or two for being so submissive.

Dirk: I gotta admit, you come up with some good scathing one liners.:)

Makes your posts actually worth reading.

I've been listening to the radio, so it's hard to provide links. What have you provided beyond, "Neener neener." neffing?

I also heard a women, I believe connected with the Texas system, say that RAND has NEVER asked for a complete data set for study. If they don't have ALL the data, how the hell are they making these judgements?!?

OK, let's say that the kids in Tejas are doing a little better, but not a lot. Does that change the FACT that Gore is a tax-raising, two-faced, lying, flip-flopping, sack o' poo? Didn't think so.

I notice that no one has answered my question from earlier. If you wouldn't patronize a doctor/LAWYER/whatever that you knew was a lying criminal, why would you VOTE for one?

Why can't Bush pull out stuff like that during the debates? He's a Texan, after all.

Believe me, while I was watching the debates, I was SCREAMING at the TV as Bush let one lie and distortion after another bounce off his dense skull. I would've DESTROYED Gore and totally made him my BITCH!!! I would be leading 60% to 30% over Gore! Vote for DIRK?!!!

BUSH IS SUCK!!!

GORE IS BIGGER SUCK!!!! AND CRIMINAL TOO!!!!

(Eat it, RD....you're not being very useful here...)

I don't need a gang to beat all you pussy liberals.

One MAN with the TRUTH can defeat all the minions of Satan (and Gore)!

Bring it on, llamas!!

(I'm going to another location now, so I won't be delivering any Smackdowns® for about an hour. See if you can explain why you're voting for the lying criminal in the meantime.)

Dirky, Dirky, Dirky, tsk, tsk, tsk!

No one answers you because people see you as the lying wench you prove yourself to be with each post. You just aren't worth the time of day. When the game gets away from you, you actively engage in the spoiled b!tch game of "deflect and change the subject." The problem is that you are just awful at doing it.

But that's not why Jr likes you so much, so what do you care? :Q

Also, I AIN'T NO F*CKING REPUBLICAN!!!!

The Republicans are too stupid for words and deserve to lose it all and be beaten about the head for their idiocy!

Unfortunately, the country can't stand and doesn't deserve the predations that Gore and the Democrats will bring upon it. You guys, JUST DON'T GET IT!!! Gore is beyond a bad idea. Clinton was efvil, but the GOP was able to bottle up his extremist liberal tendencies and allow the economy to bloom. It wasn't because they were so smart, but despite their stupidity.

The GOP is basically Democrat Lite: A little less socialism a little slower.

Utterly useless, but until the public decides not to be a pack of moochers, politicians are going to run on the promises of "free" goodies to all good children.

Bah! Humbug!

RD: When the "unbiased" (HA!) media doesn't report the FACTS, where the hell are we supposed to get them?!? Just because you don't like the politics of a Matt Drudge doesn't change the fact the Bubba was playing grabass with that heavyset gal in D.C.

As usual, you guys change the subject and then try to say that I'M changing the subject! I've been on point, y'all just can't bear to explain why the lying criminal is preferable to the (so-called) dumb guy?

C'mon. Should be simple for you geniuses.

Hey, Red, people here finally embarrassed Dirk-for-a-brain into submission. I can see why Jr favors him so.

Now, Dirk-hole, run away and hide like you promised.

Folks don't get so worked up. It's only about our future well-being here and that of our youngins'. :)

On education: the democrats can't "get it done" as Shrub would say. I'm for more school choice. Bore talks a good talk about increasing competition among schools in an effort to improve them but it's just talk. The Dept. of Ed./Teacher's Unions are so far up Bores arse that if Bore broke wind, he'd simply explode (and hopefully take them with him).

As for Texas, I don't live there. And, as usual, we get spin from each side. And, as usual, the republicans are correct some of the time and so are the democrats. It's all nonsensical and I for one am tired of it. Screw the two-party system. Give me a party and a leadership that doesn't take any side except that of the people.

From what I've seen, Dirk seems to be implying that he's a fascist or something. :) Now I could be wrong :)

Jelly, you are expressing the view of most thinking people. I agree with you. The "spin" delivered by both parties is, at best, only half true.

But it's just so much fund watching Dirk-a-dork get caught up in his own childish reactionary rants. He likes to bully other people, but gets annoyed when others shoot back. Like the prepubescent he is, his next post will vehemently deny this. He's a child and sometimes it's entertaining to watch that child blow up into tantrums. And it's very clear that he can't think critically at all. He thinks whatever the party machine tells him to think.

<< These students did relatively great on their state test scores. But in national tests this was not the case. >>

They did not excel as much on the national tests, true (except for fourth grade math), but they did improve at least as well if not better than the national average. Considering that Texas has not always had a very good education record, I'd say the improvement is probably better than it looks if you examine farther back and closer to present day.

It at least appears that Dirk has read the Rand report and not just the news article, something which doesn't appear to be the case for the others here. I'm still waiting for some rebuke of my earlier post, which hasn't happened.

Joe - Go read Dirk-is-sh!t's posts in other threads and we can compare who has the more blatant foul mouth. I politely tried to encourage Dirky to tone it down in one thread, and he responded with sentiments below skid row level. If that's the way he wants to play in the school yard, he has no right to expect that he will not receive an equal response. Besides, the fact is that he is simply dumb as dirt.

Added:

And I agree that this sort of thing is juvenile. I hope that now that Dirk-o-boy is seeing it from the other side, he gains a greater appreciation. However, Bad, you and I know that he just won't get it.

I just noticed this little snippet which doesn't appear in that article or in the Issue Paper, from RAND's CEO:

<< From the Texas standpoint, the good news is that the state ranks high in adjusted student achievement. >>

The earlier study took into account the socio-economic factors in Texas when comparing it to the rest of the country and adjusted the scores appropriately. The latest Issue Paper (there is a difference) does not do that and only compares raw figures. Whether or not you agree with the concept, RAND saw fit to do it for their earlier report yet does not for this latest IP. Why?

<< The data available for this report were not ideal. >>

Apparently.

Red - being relatively new here I guess I have a lot to learn about this board. Thought you were an idiot at first too but you're growing on me. I think I may have even sent a kiss your way on some post.

Anyway, I started out a big Bush supporter before I knew anything about him. The more I learn, the less I support. Same goes for Gore though. I'm up here in NY where Hillary's running and I will go bonkers if both her and Gore win. God I can't imagine!
