The Tenpenny dilema

I finally came across this place. I'm sure if you have completed the game you too have come across while working on the survival guide.

It seems that there is no positive finish to this quest. All the outcomes leave a sour feeling in your mouth eventually.

-Helping the ghouls will end up with all the smoothskins getting murdered.
-Helping tenpenny by getting rid of the ghouls, you lose karma and according to 3dog, you are a scumbag.

Has anyone tried helping the ghouls come in and then killing roy afterwards? I was wondering if there is a way to get rid of him and not kill the other ghouls?

There are mods that either make the ghouls 'evil' so you can go ape on them after they kill the humans, or you can get a mod that makes them co-exist peacefully.

You are right, it did leave me a sour taste after I completed the mission. I ended up helping out the ghoul as you receive a nice hat (i think) after with some nice stats, I forget what it was. The other way around didn't suit me right as everyone in the place gave me a smug feel. eventually, I did end up killing everyone.

If your speech is high enough you can talk to Tenpenny and ask him if the ghouls can move in.
Then you have to convince certain people in Tenpenny tower to leave peacefully or co-exist with the ghouls.
Then the ghouls are allowed to move in without trouble.
You will need to quicksave after every success, even with a fairly high speech skill I failed several times.

The hat makes you invisible to zombies.

A while after the ghouls move in "peacefully", they end up executing all the humans in the tower anyway.

I did something wrong with the quest and was unable to complete the "ghouls move into Tenpenny Tower" quest (or maybe my Speech skill wasn't at a sufficiently high level)

since I didn't want to kill the ghouls, I killed Tenpenny and got good karma (inspired by http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwVDgTxr7fM )

I originally wanted to open the backdoor into Tenpenny Tower for the ghouls, but couldn't figure that out

Oh, I never went back after completing the quest.

Wow, I never knew that they would eventually kill them off anyways, that sucks! I just ended up killing the ghouls due to the fact that there is no way to prevent the leader of the ghouls from murdering Tenpenny once they move in peacefully. This was definitely one of the best quests out of the game, forcing you to choose who to actually care about and who you want to kill.

YUP thats it. I used it quite often. It was easier to kill them since they thought you were friendly. Great mask

Not in my game. IIRC, they murder Tenpenny but he's the only one. Otherwise they co-exist peacefully.

The Tenpenny guy, that's the one working with that crazy bastard who wants to blow up Megaton, right? Why would he deserve to live? Just try to let the Ghouls move in and live peacefully with the residents, and then go silently kill those two weirdos (I can never remember the name of the other guy, we seem him the first time in Megaton). Now, come to think of it, I never tried to do that quest that way myself, I think I just went and killed the Ghouls, but it was before I discovered how much of a crazy man that Tenpenny guy was.

The snobbery was high in that place, but some people were ok, so they didn't all deserve to die.

Now, how do you get into the basement door again? I kept trying to look for this pile of corpses and couldn't find my way back to it.

Sometimes you just can't win. Even if you do a "win-win" situation and negotiate a peaceful understanding where the ghouls are allowed to live alongside the humans, when you come back to the place the ghouls will have killed everyone, stating that they got into a disagreement.

I hated the Ghouls. They are freaks of nature and I killed them all. I blew up Megaton as well. None of them deserved to live.

The only winning move is not to play.

It's practically fallout tradition that there is not good ending between ghouls and ghoul racists. Vault City and Gecko in fallout 2, best you could hope for was that nobody killed anybody else.

I ended up killing tenpenny to complete some quest and then added him back in via console command to finish the tenpenny quest and allow the ghouls to move in. They did eventually kill everyone anyway so whatever.
